Heeramandi: New song Azadi gives more hints about the series’ plot

<p>The premiere of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's new web series <em>Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar</em> in Mumbai was a star-studded one. From Alia Bhatt to Rekha to Vicky Kaushal to Salman Khan, Bollywood came in full force to see Bhansali's latest project on the big screen. Several photos and videos from the star-studded event are doing the rounds of the internet. One video features Rekha chatting to a pregnant Richa Chadha, who&nbsp;plays one of the main leads in the series.&nbsp;<br />

The video is special because Rekha plants a kiss on Richa's growing baby bump in the middle of the conversation. Richa looks visibly overwhelmed by the veteran actress' reaction.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bhansali got the idea for the project from Moin Baig more than 14 years ago. However, he couldn't begin working on it due to his past work commitments. Finally, Bhansali is bringing the idea to life with this web series, scheduled to premiere on May 1 on Netflix.</p>

<p>The series' cast includes Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Fardeen Khan, Adhyayan Suman, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Sharmin Segal, Shekhar Suman, and Taha Shah Badussha.&nbsp;</p>

<p>By the looks of the trailer, it seems that Bhansali has once again succeded in bringing his majestic signature flair to the project. Every scene and frame screams opulence and grandeur with actors giving out some of their best performances to turn SLB's vision into reality.</p>

It is an ambitious, grand and all-encompassing series; therefore I am nervous yet excited about making it. I am looking forward to my partnership with Netflix and bringing Heeramandi to audiences all over the world," Bhansali said.&nbsp;<br />

The filmmaker is credited for making iconic blockbuster films like Devdas`, `Black`, `Bajirao Mastani`, `Guzaarish` and `Ram Leela` among others.<br />
