This comment has come after Jay Shah - BCCI's secretary, during IPL 2023, said the home World Cup schedule will be announced on the sidelines of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) Final in London. However, as per a report in ESPNcricinfo, sources in the loop have announced the apex body will take one more week before breaking the final schedule to everyone.

As a matter of fact, the schedule for the Men's 50-over World Cup for the 2019 edition in England was announced 13 months before the first match, while for the edition before that in Australia and New Zealand in 2015, the schedule was made public exactly 18 months before.

"I think even today (Wednesday), we might be receiving the schedule from the hosts, and we've just got a bit of consultation to do with all the participating teams and the broadcasters. Then we'll be publishing that as soon as we possibly can," Allardice told BBC's Test Match Special in an interview. "When we put on events, we very much work hand in hand with the hosts.

"And in some places, there's a lot of consultation that needs to take place, both within the cricket system and with governments, etc. There's a lot of responsibility on a host to deliver a good event, and they've got to go through the right checks and balances," Allardice added.

The ICC chief was responding to a question whether Pakistan's latest stance on their unwillingness to play any game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is one of the reasons for the delay in announcing the schedule.

He said, "Until I see the schedule… I'm waiting, and I'm hoping that I'll see something in the next day or two on that."

"Our events team is very experienced at putting on cricket events in all different countries, and you control what you control.

"And I think that's the approach that our team is taking, and they're working on the things that they can progress for the event. The moment we have that information, we'll be pushing on it at a rate of knots."

Earlier, ICC members including Allardice were in Pakistan to discuss their participation amid reports of Men in Green opting to boycott the mega event in India owing to drama surrounding hosting of Asia Cup 2023.&nbsp;

Some reports even suggested the World Cup will begin on October 5th and end on November 19th.

ICC planning to bring parity in prize money for men's and women's events, says CEO Geoff Allardice

International Cricket Council (ICC) CEO Geoff Allardice, on Thursday said that he has received no communication from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja regarding the four-nation T20I series, involving both India and Pakistan.

Raja on Tuesday had said that he would make a proposal to the ICC about holding a four nations T20I series comprising both India and Pakistan to be held every year.

He voiced his opinion that he wants to see India, Pakistan, Australia, and England square off in the T20I series every year. The PCB chief also said that if this series indeed goes ahead, then the profits would be shared on a percentage basis with all ICC members.

"We have not had any correspondence or communication with Ramiz Raja regarding any of the ideas. Till we get more detail on what he is thinking, it is hard to comment. At this stage, we have had no communication with Ramiz Raja regarding his idea," said Allardice during a virtual interaction with select media on Thursday.

Allardice also said that the management of the bio-secure bubble would be a real challenge at the upcoming U19 World Cup, adding that the bio-bubble in place would not be a strict one as the apex cricketing body wants players to enjoy the experience of playing in a World Cup.

The U19 World Cup will get underway in Guyana with hosts West Indies taking on Australia in the tournament opener on Friday, and a concurrent second game between Sri Lanka and Scotland will also take place in Georgetown.

"It`s a balance between the risk of catching and passing on the virus versus the freedom that young people are going to be looking for and allow them to enjoy the experience of being involved in an Under-19 World Cup as well. I think the management of that environment over the next few weeks is probably the challenge and being able to react to whatever gets thrown our way," said Allardice.

When asked about the bio-bubble for the World Cup, Allardice said: "We are following a similar model to the Men`s T20 World Cup in the way that we manage the type of accommodation that we are using and the COVID-19 testing frequency. We did learn from the experience in the UAE and we have had other events which have been multi-teams competitions."

"I think majority of the squad members from participating countries are vaccinated for COVID-19. The teams play their matches at a reasonable frequency. So you go to the cricket ground, you play your match, you go back to the hotel accommodation, recover, and then a day or two later, you are back again," he added.&nbsp;

International Cricket Council (ICC) CEO Geoff Allardice, on Thursday said that he has received no communication from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja regarding the four-nation T20I series, involving both India and Pakistan. Raja on Tuesday had said that he would make a proposal to the ICC about holding a four nations T20I series comprising both India and Pakistan to be held every year. He voiced his opinion that he wants to see India, Pakistan, Australia, and England square off in the T20I series every year. The PCB chief also said that if this series indeed goes ahead, then the profits would be shared on a percentage basis with all ICC members. "We have not had any correspondence or communication with Ramiz Raja regarding any of the ideas. Till we get more detail on what he is thinking, it is hard to comment. At this stage, we have had no communication with Ramiz Raja regarding his idea," said Allardice during a virtual interaction with select media on Thursday. "It`s a balance between the risk of catching and passing on the virus versus the freedom that young people are going to be looking for and allow them to enjoy the experience of being involved in an Under-19 World Cup as well. I think the management of that environment over the next few weeks is probably the challenge and being able to react to whatever gets thrown our way," said Allardice. "I think majority of the squad members from participating countries are vaccinated for COVID-19. The teams play their matches at a reasonable frequency. So you go to the cricket ground, you play your match, you go back to the hotel accommodation, recover, and then a day or two later, you are back again," he added.

Initially they were not in the same group for this event. But so much time had passed and they did end up in the same group at the revised group. I’m not sure how they are placed for Australia next year."

The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in October-November in India – which is reporting over a lakh case daily for the past few ways. Amid the pandemic, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is scheduled to start from April 9 (Friday) behind closed doors.

"We are certainly proceeding with the event as planned," Allardice said during a virtual media round-table.

"Plan B we have, but we haven't activated those plans yet. We are working with the BCCI, we do have backup plans that can be activated if the time comes," he added.

Allardice was named ICC’s interim CEO after Manu Sawhney was sent on “leave” after coming under the scanner for his conduct during an internal investigation.

"Cricket is being played in a number of countries at the moment and we are learning from all of them.

"We have been talking to others sports bodies about what they are doing, we are in a good shape at the moment but acknowledge that the world is changing at a rapid rate.

"We have also got the World Test Championship final coming up in two months' time, but we are proceeding with both as planned," he said.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE), which hosted IPL 2020, could be one of the back-up venues for the T20 World Cup should the situation demand a move.&nbsp;
