"Welcome war criminals" was written on one of their placards which they held up, while "Fake peacemakers" and "Real dictators" had been daubed on their bodies.&nbsp;

"Most of them are dictators who don't respect human rights," said 24-year-old protester Tara Lacroix, who was detained by police along with the two others.

Two hostages were held after which the police launched an evacuation operation to help bring them out of the building.

The hostage-taker claimed to be in possession of two bombs and had asked to speak with the Iranian ambassador in Paris and with the French government.

The police described the accused as an "unstable person" and confirmed that he did not seem to have any connection with any terrorist outfit.

Further, the motive of the accused has also not been disclosed yet.&nbsp

Police arrested dozens of French youths after they torched cars on Tuesday night. Protests have become increasingly violent over the past few days in a north Paris suburb of Aulnay-sous-Bois in response to the rape of a young black man by&nbsp;police&nbsp;last week.

In an Al Jazeera video, the victim, only identified as &quot;Theo&quot;, describes that he was on his way to meet a friend&nbsp;through his neighbourhood when he saw the police asking people for identification. Violence erupts in Paris suburb over police brutality

The chauffeur of Kim Kardashian West, Michael Madar, has been released along with two others by the French police regarding the armed robbery of the former, last year in October.

The arrest of Madar had led to suspicions that the gang had inside information on Kardashian&#39;s movements.

The three will face no charges.

On suspicious grounds, 17 individuals were arrested by French police on Monday.

Among them were Michael Madar and his younger brother Gary Madar, both of whom work for the limo company used by Kim Kardashian.

French police arrested several men over the weekend and foiled a planned militant attack, the country&#39;s interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve said on Monday, November 21.

According to a Reuters report, seven people of French, Moroccan and Afghan origin and aged from 29 to 37 years, were arrested in all, two in Marseille and most of the others in the eastern city of Strasbourg.

The man, identified by French police sources as 31-year-old Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, was not known by the Tunisian authorities to hold radical or Islamist views, the sources said.

Bouhlel was married and&nbsp;had three children, they said. The sources did not say when he had last been resident in Tunisia.

Msaken is about 10 km outside the coastal city of Sousse.

Tunisia&#39;s consul in Nice said one of the 84 victims of the attack had been identified as Tunisian national, Bilal Labawi,&nbsp;and that officials were working to check for other Tunisian nationals among the casualties, state news agency TAP reported.

The Tunisian government issued a statement condemning the attack &quot;in the strongest possible terms&quot;.

&quot;Tunisia stands by France in its fight against terrorism and supports any measure taken by the French government to protect its territory and the security of its citizens and visitors,&quot; the statement said.

Nice truck attacker was from Tunisian town of Msaken

Two men linked to a jihadist who killed a French police officer and his partner were charged and detained by an anti-terror court on Saturday. 
 
Saad Rajraji, 27, and Charaf-Din Aberouz, 29, were charged with having links to a terrorist group, but were not found to have any connection to the IS-inspired murder of the police couple carried out by Larossi Abballa last Monday. 
 
The two men had been convicted along with Abballa in September 2013 as part of a network to send jihadists to Pakistan, judicial sources close to the investigation said. 
 
A third man arrested in the case was released without charge. 
 
Abballa, a convicted radical who had been under surveillance, murdered the police officer and his partner outside their home and then was killed himself in a police raid. 
 
Before he was killed, Abballa posted a live Facebook video of himself in which he admitted the murders and urged fellow jihadists to carry out more bloodshed. 
 
Monday`s assault in a small town northwest of Paris was the first deadly strike in France since the coordinated attacks in the capital by an Islamic State cell in November, which killed 130 people.
