'RM Apologise To Muslims' trends after BTS singer shares Frank Ocean's controversial song

R&amp;B singer Frank Ocean has withdrawn from his scheduled headline slot at the second weekend of the Coachella music festival due to a leg injury, his publicist said Wednesday.

Ocean suffered the injury before his performance last Sunday at the buzzy California festival's first weekend -- a highly anticipated set which began an hour late and was widely panned by audiences and music critics.

"After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1... Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity," Ocean's publicist told AFP.&nbsp;

"On doctor's advice, Frank Ocean is not able to perform weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg."

During Ocean's previous set, which closed last weekend's festivities, the singer mostly turned away from the crowd to perform his track Novacane,&nbsp;and took prolonged pauses between songs including ''Crack Rock''&nbsp;and ''White Ferrari''.

Press photos or a live stream of the performance were not permitted, and Ocean closed the set abruptly with the words: "Guys, I'm being told it's curfew so that's the end of the show."

Variety called the set "messy, loose, and a near-disaster that will likely go down as one of the most divisive in Coachella history."

In a statement from Ocean provided by his publicists Wednesday, the singer said: "It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos.

"It isn't what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I'll see you soon."

According to Variety, this Sunday's headline slot could be taken by Blink-182.&nbsp;

And K-pop group Blackpink of South Korea is the first Asian act to receive a top billing at the festival.

Both acts debuted at Coachella in 2019 to great fanfare, teeing up an eventual headlining slot. 
 
Ocean -- thought to be the first out queer man to headline the festival -- was originally booked as a top-billed act for the 2020 edition, which organizers postponed and eventually scrapped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The acclaimed R&amp;B artist, who hasn't released an album since 2016's "Blonde," is anticipated to debut new work at this year's festival.

The headliners -- in particular Puerto Rico's Bad Bunny, who is by most measures the world's biggest contemporary artist -- are some of the buzziest in years, since Beyonce shut down the stage in 2018 with her revered "Homecoming" show.

But despite their undeniable star power there was some surprise among industry-watchers and fans that Bad Bunny or Blackpink nabbed the top slots.

That take is misguided according to Vanessa Diaz, a professor at Loyola Marymount University who teaches the course "Bad Bunny and Resistance in Puerto Rico."

"They're surprised because they don't view this as mainstream American culture," she said.

"People were in disbelief because this seems so not a representation of mainstream American popular music in the way that Coachella has represented that before."

The weekend is set to host perhaps the most international lineup Coachella has ever booked, including Spanish phenomenon Rosalia, Iceland's Bjork and Nigeria's Burna Boy.

Belgium's Angele is slated to make her Coachella debut, as France's Christine and the Queens, who has been performing under the name Redcar, will also return after wowing audiences in 2019.

And the elusive electronic producer Jai Paul will play his first public performance ever. 
 
Domi and JD Beck, the rising jazz duo comprised of a French keyboardist and American drummer, will also take the stage, months after they made a splash in Los Angeles as Grammy nominees.

Diljit Dosanjh will become the first Punjabi singer to perform at Coachella, as Pakistani singer, songwriter and composer Ali Sethi will also play a set.

For CedarBough Saeji, a professor of Korean and East Asian studies who specializes in K-pop, the festival lineup emphasizing the hottest acts from across the globe is long overdue.

"The American music industry, the American decision-makers, are not necessarily the biggest risk-takers," she told AFP. "They want to follow clear indication of public demand, as opposed to sticking their necks out."

English virtual band Gorillaz will also perform, as will New Wave pioneers Blondie and the American indie rock supergroup boygenius, which includes Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker.

According to a source, the R&amp;B singer will be releasing his latest record, &#39;Boys Don&#39;t Cry&#39;, on Friday through an exclusive deal with Apple Music, reports the New York Times. 
 
It will be the first album since his last release on 2012, titled &#39;Channel Orange&#39;, which was widely hailed by critics and nominated for six Grammy Awards. The release is also expected to include a major video and a printed publication called &#39;Boys Don`t Cry&#39; that will be distributed at Apple stores. 
 
The source added that the album is expected to remain exclusive to Apple for two weeks before becoming more widely available. 
 
Ocean first announced the new title three years ago and seemed to play with the long wait when he included the image of an old-school library due-date slip labeled &#39;Boys Don`t Cry&#39; on a website connected to the album. He even added a series of stamped dates going back over a year. 
 
On Monday, a mysterious video appeared on the same website showing a pair of workbenches in a large empty room.&nbsp; 
 
Director Francisco Soriano briefly took credit for the video itself early Monday in an Instagram post that was later deleted. But many viewers did notice the Apple Music logo in a watermark on the feed.&nbsp;
