She said "Olger" can identify conditions like Arcus, Malenoma, Pterygium and even Cataracts with help of trained models.&nbsp;

Revealing more details about her innovation, Leena said that her app is currently under review in Apple's app store and is hopeful that it will be approved soon. The Olger EyeScan is only supported in iPhone 10 and above with iOS 16+.

He said that it gets noticed when people find it difficult to see far, especially while driving or while doing some other work. He further noted that there's a particular type of astigmatism, where the distortion can be even more if a person doesn't have corrected glasses. It could be even an early cataract which may not cause that much of a problem in other activities but during driving, it can cause distortion. Also, make sure the eyes are tested for glasses. He noted that if a person is myopic, he/she may not find it difficult during day time, but during the night issues occur with vision. He suggested that people must use anti-glare glasses and also said that they must get their eyes checked regularly. Issue of poor vision of trucker drivers Dr Sabherwal also weighed in on the report by ICARE eye hospital, which highlighted staggering data, revealing that 50 per cent of truck drivers in India face issues with vision. According to a CBS News report, the new medicine takes effect within 15 minutes, with one drop on each eye providing sharper vision for about six to 10 hours.

Toni Wright, one of the 750 participants in the clinical trial, said she was pleased with the results.

"It's definitely a life changer."

Before the trial, Wright only saw clearly when she kept reading glasses everywhere: in her office, bathroom, kitchen, and car.

"I was in denial because to me that was a sign of growing older, you know, needing to wear glasses," she said.

The FDA has approved eye drops to treat blurred near vision for the first time. These drops treat presbyopia, also known as age-related blurry vision.&nbsp;

George Waring, the principal investigator for the trial, explains that the drug takes advantage of the eye's natural ability to reduce its pupil size. "Reducing the pupil size expands the depth of field or the depth of focus, and that allows you to focus at different ranges naturally," he said.

This followed a joint-study which found the AI programme to have an accuracy rate of 95 per cent when it comes to disease detection, compared with 74 per cent from opticians or eye doctors.

The programme analyses patients' eye screen results to assess if they are at a risk of vision loss, which will enable them to have preemptive treatment.

Thailand is one of the world's most important sugar producers and high sugar consumption is common amongst its 69 million population.

The Thai government has been campaigning against behaviour that can lead to diabetes and has made the diabetic eye screening one of the country's national health indicators since 2015.
