California is not the only place in the United States at risk of a massive earthquake. Scientists have warned about a hotspot in a region of the country where officials prepare for tornadoes, not earthquakes. If this quake happens, nearly 86,000 people can lose their lives.

An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit California on Wednesday. The quake which was centred in central California hit Lone Pine near Death Valley National Park.
