The CDC claimed that till now, 16,456 cases of babesiosis have been reported by 37 states from 2011 to 2019. The largest number of cases were reported in New York with 4,738 cases. While Massachusetts reported 4,136 cases, the second highest during the time period.&nbsp;

The most common way to treat babesiosis is through a course of antibiotics. However, not all antibiotics will work for everyone.&nbsp;

A medical expert, Dr Adalja cited by Prevention says that a combination of atovaquone and azithromycin is the mainstay of the treatment, although clindamycin plus quinine can also be used.&nbsp;

The best way to prevent the disease is to avoid tick tick bites. Experts have advised using tick repellent and doing a regular tick check&nbsp;after spending time outdoors.&nbsp;

Dr Julie Parsonnet has been studying this phenomenon and states that there never has been a real average because people vary. Indications from her research conclude that there is a lot we do not know when addressing the continued decrease in body temperature.

Referring to data from three groups in the study, Parsonnet and other researchers looked at temperatures of <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/sri-lanka-indian-ocean-island-marked-by-civil-war-262489">Civil War</a> veterans from the mid-1800s through 1930, <a href="https://www.wionews.com/videos/us-vaping-related-deaths-rise-to-18-illnesses-surpass-1000-cdc-253614">CDC </a>records from the 1970s and temperatures of patients visiting <a href="https://www.wionews.com/business-economy/google-pay-to-offer-checking-accounts-through-citi-stanford-federal-261964">Stanford </a>health clinics from 2007 to 2017.
