We have been receiving messages of gratitude from the 1,500 daily wagers he helped.” The actor and producer Sajid Nadiadwala transferred Rs 3000 into each member’s bank account. “They have assured us that they will do whatever is needed to help the members,” Behl said.

He was supposed to appear before its ICC and Executive committee yesterday but he didn’t turn up. Now CINTAA has asked him to be present in its annual general meeting on 1st May and if he fails to put his point, he will be permanently expelled from CINTAA.”

#MeToo movement: Alok Nath expelled from CINTAA after he fails to respond to its notice

CINTAA (Cine artists and TV association) announced to include actresses Sawara Bhaskar and Raveena Tandon in the committee to be set up to tackle the&nbsp;issues related to sexual harassment in Bollywood.

In an interview with ANI, General Secretary of CINTAA Sushant Singh said they have sent emails to the concerned people to join the committee.&nbsp;

''Swara Bhaskar approached us, she is a member. She was working on this issue independently, very methodically. When we met her we realized we were on the same page. We are planning to set up a sub-committee which will focus on sexual harassment awareness,'' said Sushant Singh, general secretary of CINTAA.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;

"It includes Swara and lawyer Vrinda Grover who will take a session for the industry. PoSH will also pitch in and counselling sessions, awareness workshops and symposiums will be held," Singh added.

CINTAA is taking the issue very seriously and is making equally strict efforts to tackle the problem of sexual harassment.

&nbsp;"We need to define punishment for what one has done. As a trade union, we can only expel such people from associations. But as an industry, we need to think,'' said Singh. 
 
He also said that the committee needs to have strong members and that those found guilty should be boycotted from the industry. "The committee should be so strong that if someone is held guilty, proven wrong or is a repeat offender, no one should employ them. We will be coordinating with producers because they are the employers. We need to create such an atmosphere.''

Singh further stressed the decision of the committee should be taken in such a way that no one in the industry should work to support the offender.

Raveena Tandon, Swara Bhaskar to become members of CINTAA committee

It also sought an investigation into the matter under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC) section 155 and sections 499, 500, 34 and 114 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). This comes less than a week after Nanda narrated her ordeal on Facebook amidst the ongoing #MeToo movement."I hadn`t just been raped, I was taken to my own house and had been brutalised," she had written in reference to the `most sanskari person in the industry`. Nanda was the writer and producer of teleserial `Tara` in the 90s, in which Nath played a lead role. Alok Nath responds to CINTAA, denies allegations

This could change a few things. Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) has expressed regret for not reacting to Tanushree Dutta's complaint in 2008.&nbsp; 
 
Dutta had filed a complaint with CINTAA a decade ago after she felt uncomfortable shooting a song with Nana Patekar for the film 'Horn Ok Pleassss'.&nbsp; 
 
The actress had alleged the organisation did not pay heed to her complaint. 
 
In a fresh statement, CINTAA said it "strongly condemns any act that outrages the modesty of any individual and any form of sexual harassment is unacceptable to us." "After going through Ms Tanushree Dutta's complaint, which was filed with the then Executive Committee of CINTAA in March 2008, we feel that the decision taken in the Joint Dispute Settlement Committee of CINTAA &amp; IFTPC (then known as AMPTPP) in July 2008 was not appropriate, as the chief grievance of sexual harassment wasn't even addressed." 
 
The organisation said even though it was a different Executive Committee back then, CINTAA finds it "highly regrettable and no apologies can suffice, hence we must resolve today to never allow such lapses to occur again".&nbsp;

"CINTAA stands strongly for the dignity and self-respect of its members. Sexual harassment is a serious criminal offence," the statement read. 
 
According to the guidelines, the current committee of CINTAA cannot deal with cases that date back more than three years and hence Dutta's grievance cannot be addressed in the present day. However, in its statement, CINTAA appealed to the authorities to take cognisance of Dutta's statements and conduct a fresh and impartial enquiry on the matter. &nbsp; 
 
"We also appeal to all our members to report any such incidents to us immediately. We are duty bound to give them our complete moral and legal support to ensure just and safe working conditions," the statement further read.

In a recent TV interview, Dutta claimed that Patekar had misbehaved with her on the sets of the 2008 film. During the interview, she also alleged that the actor had the tacit support of the film's makers.
