Losing a child is a painful experience that no parent wishes to go through. However, in a miraculous incident, a Chinese couple reunited with their son after a long search of 37 years.

The paternal grandmother gave away the child just after the day he was born in 1986, without his parents' knowledge. The boy was sent to a man with the last name Zhao so he could be brought up in his family as she believed that the parents couldn't afford another child, having two sons already. The amount of money Zhao paid the grandmother is not confirmed.

According to the South China Morning Post report, Li and his wife, the boy's parents, only knew Zhao’s hometown was in the Shandong province of China. After the grandmother's death, the couple travelled around the world for three decades in search of their son.

In February, the couple found a match to their blood samples – a man with the surname Pang who lived in Zaozhuang, Shandong province, according to the data from the Ministry of Public Security.

In an initiative to reunite children with their biological parents, Chinese authorities collected samples of them and established a DNA database in 2009. The child and his parents' blood was tested twice by the Shaanxi police to confirm they are related biologically.

On August 3, with the Police officers' help, Pang finally met his parents in Weinan, his birthplace, after 37 long years.

"Son, dad and mom are sorry for you. How has your life been all these years?" the couple said with tears in their eyes. They hugged Pang and held his hands tightly, as seen in the video which gained an emotional response from viewers in China.

"The grandmother is so cruel. She abandoned her own grandson. It is hard to understand her actions," a user wrote on Weibo, one of the most popular social media platforms in China.

Another had a different take on it, "The son appears embarrassed at the reunion event. He does not have any feelings for his biological parents, who have not raised him."

A couple in China who were executed for killing two children by&nbsp;throwing them&nbsp;out of an apartment building&nbsp;window&nbsp;wished to start a family together, reported the&nbsp;China Daily. The horrendous act by&nbsp;Zhang Bo and his girlfriend Ye Chengchen, who were meted stringent punishment, had led to&nbsp;countrywide outrage.

As per China Daily, the two are likely to have died after being given lethal injection on Wednesday (Jan 31), more than two years after their death sentence was approved by China's Supreme Court.

The court had convicted Zhang of throwing his two children out of the window of the high-rise apartment on the 15th floor in 2020. The court also held Ye guilty of creating pressure on her boyfriend to kill the children.&nbsp;

Zhang had two children - a one-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl. His girlfriend mounted pressure on&nbsp;him to get rid of the children because she felt they were an "obstacle" in their relationship.

According to a&nbsp;New York Post&nbsp;report, Zhang started an affair with Ye without informing her that he had two children from his earlier marriage.

Zhang had divorced his then-wife Chen Meilin in February 2020, however, he was pressurised by Ye to take the life of his own children.&nbsp;

In the videos shared on Chinese social media, Zhang appeared grief-stricken because of the act he committed.&nbsp;

As per the outlet, the man was also seen sobbing uncontrollably and banging his head on the wall.

Speaking to the police, Zhang claimed that the children "fell" when he was sleeping and said he woke up after hearing people shouting downstairs.&nbsp;

The children's mother was left shocked after she learnt that her children had died.&nbsp;

"The moment I heard my kids were actually thrown out of the 15th floor by their father and the mistress, I couldn't find any words to describe my feelings," said Chen, as reported by The New York Post.

"I couldn't imagine what my kids had experienced from the 15th floor to the ground. Were they desperate? Were they afraid?" she said.&nbsp;

The crime committed by Zhang and Ye' sent shock waves across China for its cold-blooded nature.&nbsp;
