Professor WANG Junqiang at the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (NIMTE) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) heads the team of scientists who have developed a way to create water from lunar soil.

The strategy for large-scale water production on the lunar surface has been created by researchers using a unique chemical reaction between endogenous hydrogen and lunar regolith. This reaction is set to help extract drinking water.

“We used lunar regolith samples brought back by the Chang’E-5 mission in our study, trying to find a way to produce&nbsp;water on the Moon,” said Professor WANG, as he underlined the importance of making use of authentic lunar material to ensure how reliable their experiment is.

In the experiments, it was seen that lunar regolith, when heated above 1,200 K using specially designed concave mirrors, led to the creation of one gramme of molten lunar regolith, which can produce around 51 to 76 mg of water.

According to this, one tonne of lunar regolith can produce more than 50 kg of water, which is equivalent to a hundred 500-ml bottles of drinking water.

These firms had Chinese directors whose proceeds of crime were generated using mobile apps.

As per reports, these apps were systematically working to push victims into a vicious cycle of debt trap.

The Chinese national NHK staffer, who is in his 40s, made these remarks, which were not written in the news script, for about 20 seconds during a Chinese-language broadcast on Monday on the NHK World-Japan and Radio 2 channels, Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun reported.&nbsp;

The staff member has been working under a service contract with NHK and its affiliated organisation since 2002 and has been translating Japanese news into Chinese and reading the text on the radio.&nbsp;

His remarks came right after he read a news report about an incident where graffiti was found at Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward, where Japanese Class-A war criminals are enshrined.&nbsp;

The Japanese broadcaster NHK stressed that they were unaware of why he made such a remark. Moreover, they have launched a strong protest with the staffer through the affiliated organisation and the group has planned to suspend his contract.&nbsp;

However, the outlet has not given any details of what happened during the incident, but they stated that initially, the accident trapped eight people.&nbsp;

According to the state broadcaster, as of Wednesday afternoon, seven people have been found dead, and one other trapped person is still being searched for with all-out efforts.

Search and rescue operations are still underway for the missing person.

Two men working at a Japanese company in Taiwan have been allegedly indicted for stealing technology from their Japan-based employer on behalf of a Chinese company, according to Taiwan state media.&nbsp;

The Japan-based company specialises&nbsp;in technologies, including cameras and mobile phone lens functions.

The suspects, surnamed&nbsp;Wu and Huang, worked as research and development manager, and chief engineer&nbsp;respectively. They were also involved in designing and developing manufacturing processes for the company's patented microactuators.&nbsp;

They were suspected of copying and disclosing the company's core technology to a man surnamed Wang, who owns a precision industry company in China.&nbsp;

Wu and Huang are accused of breaching trust and obtaining records from another's computer without good reason, in violation of the Criminal Code. "Such actions are intended to intimidate China's neighbours and undermine regional peace and stability," he said.

"Taiwan will not be intimidated. We will take responsibility to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait."

Lai has repeatedly made overtures for dialogue with Beijing but talks have effectively dried up since the 2016 election of his predecessor, Tsai Ing-wen, who has long said Taiwan is not part of China.&nbsp;

"In the interest of justice," the Office of the Philippine President in an Aug. 20 memo addressed to the justice and foreign ministers, directed "that appropriate action be taken for the cancellation" of Guo's passport.

It's unclear what date she left the&nbsp;Philippines.

But Guo's lawyer Stephen David insisted she remains in the&nbsp;Philippines. She has also denied the allegations against her.

"Thus, without further evidence to prove that she has indeed left the country, our reliance in good faith on the assurances by our client remains," David said in a statement, without providing details.
