February 10 marked the second anniversary of China's ambitious Tianwen 1 mission — which also happens to be the nation's first interplanetary mission. Amid the celebration, one voice remained silent, that of China's Zhurong Mars rover, which was sent to the surface of the red planet as part of Beijing's Tianwen 1 mission.

According to reports, China is reportedly working towards extracting oxygen from the lunar surface to sustain humans on the Moon. A Chinese researcher claimed the oxygen is required to build a research centre in space although it is unclear whether the experiment has been carried out by China's Chang’e 5 mission.

According to China's Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), the Zhurong rover travelled over 1,000 metres on the surface of Mars creating a new record.

A photograph taken on January 7 and released on Tuesday by China's National Space Administration showed seeds, carried by China's Chang'e-4 moon probe, sprouting on the far side of the moon.
