Special Judge Virender Kumar Goyal awarded the sentence to Rajan and others for offences including forgery of valuable security under the IPC which entails a maximum punishment of life imprisonment.

On Monday, a CBI court convicted &nbsp;Rajendra Sadashiv Nikhalje alias Chhota Rajan and three others in the fake passport case.

Three others who were convicted by the court yesterday were then passport officers-- Jayashree Dattatray Rahate, Deepak Natvarlal Shah and Lalitha Lakshmanan.&nbsp;

They were found guilty of helping Rajan to obtain a fake passport by &ldquo;entering into a criminal conspiracy&rdquo;.

On June 8, 2016, the court framed charges against Rajan as well as Rahate, Shah and Lakshmanan.

The CBI in its chargesheet alleged that Chhota Rajan got issued a fake passport from Bengaluru in 1998-99 in connivance with Rahate, Shah and Lakshmanan in the name of Mohan Kumar.

Rajan is accused in nearly 85 cases, ranging from murder to extortion, smuggling and drug trafficking.

He was deported to India after his arrest in Bali in October 2015.
