Over 42 lakh students registered for the CBSE board exams this year, with approximately 24.12 lakh students appearing for Class 10. The exams were held between 15 February and 18 March 2025.
To successfully pass the Class 10 examination, students are required to secure a minimum of 33 per cent in each subject. In certain cases where a candidate falls slightly short of this threshold, the board may choose to grant grace marks. A look at the board&rsquo;s performance trends in recent years shows relatively stable results, with pass percentages generally remaining above 90 per cent for Class 10. In 2024, 93.60 per cent of students passed the Class 10 examination, while the Class 12 pass percentage stood at 87.98 per cent.

CBSE class 10 results 2025 expected shortly, class 12 updates also awaited

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced class 12 exam resuts on Monday noon at its official website&nbsp;cbseresults.nic.in.

A total of 88.78 per cent students passed the exam&nbsp;this year, which is 5.38 per cent more than previous year's pass percentage, which was&nbsp;83.40 per cent.

This year too girls have topped the list with a pass percentage of 92.15 per cent and among boys the pass percentage is 86.19 per cent. Pass percentage among transgender students is 66.67 per cent.

Normally, students with special needs are allowed to avail the facility of scribe for class 10 and 12 exams conducted by&nbsp;Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). However, this year, due to the pandemic, CBSE has announced change in plans.

All students who need a scribe can opt to skip the exams for this academic year.

The students who opt out of exams will have their result declared as per an alternative assessment scheme, CBSE announced.

While majority of the exams were finished before the lockdown, few subject exams were still pending sue tot the nationwide lockdown that was initiated in March by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Recently, CBSE had announced resumption of the pending exams between July 1 to July 15.

"In case children with special needs availing the facility of scribe do not wish to appear in the forthcoming examination because of noncompliance of social distancing norms, the students can inform their respective schools and their result will be declared as per the assessment scheme to be decided by the board," a senior board official said.

The board grants several exemptions to children with special needs in accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Ac, 2016.

"In addition to extra time, scribe or reader, computer or laptop (without internet), from this year we had also allowed use of basic calculators for candidates registered under CWSN category," the official added.

The CBSE has also decided that no pending exams will be conducted in foreign countries.
