Indonesia has detained a British woman named in a list of global terror suspects and plans to deport her for visa violations.

Tazneen Miriam Sailar is a Manchester-born convert to Islam once married to a now-deceased Indonesian jihadist. He, however, is not charged with terror offences.

Sailar was born in Manchester on February 20, 1973 and holds a British passport, according to the list, which also said she goes by at least two aliases.

But she and her late husband are on a police list of suspected domestic and foreign extremists, including a Frenchman who appeared in Islamic State (IS) beheading videos and another close to the brothers who massacred staff at satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Sailar and her 10-year-old Indonesia born son were being held in Jakarta after they were picked up last year on allegations she didn't have documents to remain in the Southeast Asian nation, according to her lawyer Farid Ghozali.

The police document does not say why Sailar was listed along with some 400 other terror suspects, including her late husband who was killed in Syria in 2015.

The couple's 2010 marriage was officiated by radical Indonesian cleric Abu Bakar Bashir, the spiritual head of extremist group Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), according to sources familiar with the case.

JI members were behind the Bali bombings which saw more than 200 people, including nearly 90 Australian holidaymakers, killed when massive blasts ripped through a pair of packed bars on the Indonesian holiday island in October 2002.

Sailar operated a charity named after her late husband, which sent aid to women and children in conflict-wracked Syria.

She arrived in Muslim-majority Indonesia in 2005 as a medical volunteer for a Christian-based humanitarian foundation that assisted victims of natural disasters, Ghozali and a source said.

Alleged members of the Taliban and Islamic State (IS) appear on the Indonesian police list, as well as British Islamist Anjem Choudary and&nbsp;Sally-Anne Jones, an Islamic State (IS) recruiter reportedly killed in a US drone strike in Syria.

Maxime Hauchard, a now-dead French convert seen in a gruesome IS beheading video, was listed along with French jihadist Peter Cherif, previously charged with the 2011 kidnapping of three French aid workers in Yemen and a close associate of the siblings who killed staff at Charlie Hebdo in 2015.

Indonesia detains British woman on terror suspect list

The husband of a British bride who died on her honeymoon in Sri Lanka will be kept in the country at least until a formal hearing on the death is held on Wednesday, police said.

Khilan Chandaria is not under arrest or facing a charge, but has been stopped from leaving Sri Lanka since his wife Usheila Patel, 31, died on April 25.

The bride died just six days after her wedding and two days after the couple checked into a hotel in the resort town of Galle, south of the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/south-asia/sri-lanka-catholic-schools-to-reopen-after-easter-day-attacks-217276">capital Colombo.</a>

The couple's family has told British media that the newlyweds had suffered severe food poisoning.&nbsp;

Chandaria, 33, was also taken ill.

Police said an inquest hearing will be held on Wednesday when authorities expect toxicology reports ordered by a judicial medical officer.

"Chief Magistrate Harshana Kekunawela ordered the government analyst to provide all the necessary reports for the hearing on May 15," a police official in Galle told AFP.

The court was holding Chandaria's passport until the magistrate can rule on the cause of death, the police official added.

"At the moment, the magistrate has given an open verdict," the officer said referring to the term used when the cause and circumstances of a death are unclear.

"The body is still in the custody of the judiciary and kept at the Karapitiya hospital morgue."

The couple, from London, checked into the Amari Galle resort.

Amari spokesman Russell Cool said the couple fell ill after eating, and initially declined medical treatment at a local hospital but asked for help a few hours later.

"The couple consumed a light meal prepared by the hotel, as did other guests at the same time and who remain fine," he told AFP.

"Also in their possession were other consumable items obtained from outside of the hotel and we have handed these items to the relevant authorities as part of their investigations."&nbsp;

Chandaria could not be contacted immediately, but he has told the British media that both of them felt feverish and vomited blood after falling ill.

They married on April 19 and arrived in Sri Lanka on April 23, just two days after the Easter bombings at three luxury hotels in Colombo and three churches where 258 people were killed.

A British woman has been prevented from leaving Dubai, police in the Emirate said Monday, after her ex-husband's new wife pressed defamation charges over comments posted on Facebook.

Dubai police confirmed a 55-ye ar-old British woman was being tried for defamation under the UAE's cybercrime law.

Police said the woman had never been held in custody, but had confessed to making the statements and refused attempts to settle out of court.

While police would not disclose the woman's identity, the London-based group Detained in Dubai identified her as Laleh Sharavesh, saying she had described her ex-husband's new wife as 'a horse'.

Dubai police said that following a complaint by a Portugese man and his Tunisian wife in 2017, a warrant had been issued requiring the woman to present herself to the police.

"Upon her return to the country on 10 March 2019, the outstanding warrant prompted the immigration authorities at the airport to bring the matter to the British woman's attention," the police said in a statement.

"She was requested to attend the nearest police station."

Britain said it was in contact with the UAE about the case and offering help to the Sharavesh.

"We are offering consular assistance to Ms Sharavesh. We're very concerned about the situation," British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt told reporters in Luxembourg.

"Our diplomats in the UAE have enormous experience in dealing with consular cases ... so she is getting the best possible service" from the British authorities, he added.

The Detained in Dubai group said Sharavesh's Portuguese husband of 18 years divorced her to marry a Tunisian woman in Dubai.

The man died last month and Sharavesh flew to Dubai with their daughter for his funeral, according to the group.&nbsp;

While their teenage daughter was allowed to fly back, Sharavesh was not permitted to leave the country.&nbsp;

The group said the charges are based on two comments Sharavesh posted under her ex-husband's new wedding pictures on Facebook in Farsi.

"I hope you go under the ground, you idiot. Damn you. You left me for this horse," she allegedly wrote. "You married a horse, you idiot".

Sharavesh's attorney could not be reached for comment.

"I put my arm on something and only realise it's burning when I can smell flesh burning. So it's not clumsiness. The normal reaction is you cut yourself or burn yourself once, maybe twice. Then you avoid that because your brain says don't do that. Well, my brain doesn't say don't do that. And that's not good, that's not good at all, is it? I haven't got the normal safeguards."

The UK Home Office argues that Mahmood has not been made &ldquo;stateless&rdquo; because she is eligible to apply for citizenship in the country where her parents were born, which is Pakistan.

A similar order has been made against another British woman who fled Syria at the end of 2016 after her husband, a prominent British figure in IS, died in a battle.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, gave birth to two children, now aged one and three, in the war zone, which means they have no nationality, the report said.

All three remain stranded in Turkey.

The UK&rsquo;s social services departments have been drawing up plans to take into care British children known to have travelled to Syria and Iraq with their families, should their parents bring them back home.

More than 100 British women are thought to have travelled to Syria and Iraq to join the terror groups.
