India's central security agency has received an email threatening to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and blow up the Narendra Modi stadium in Gujarat's Ahmedabad besides the sender demanding&nbsp;Rs 500 crore and the release of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, said reports quoting NIA officials.&nbsp;

Dreaded Indian gangster Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in Ahmedabad on drug smuggling charges that are being probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Bishnoi is also an accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

Acting on the email, the NIA promptly informed the Mumbai police about the threat, said a report in the Indian Express. They reportedly also shared the email's contents with relevant agencies responsible for the Prime Minister's security as well as the Gujarat Police.&nbsp;

PM Modi assassination threat, gangster Bishnoi’s release demand in email triggers security alarm: Report

Sharpshooter allegedly plotting to assassinate Salman Khan arrested by police 
 
A member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was arrested by the Uttarakhand Police on over his involvement in the murder of a Faridabad resident. While interrogating, it was revealed that Bollywood actor Salman Khan was on his radar next and he had even conducted a recce in Mumbai earlier this year in January for it. 
 
Bishnoi is currently serving jail time in Rajasthan. 
 
According to police, the accused, Rahul hails from Bhiwani and was arrested from Uttarakhand on August 15. He is accused of murdering Praveen, a Faridabad resident who ran a ration depot, on June 24. 
 
“During questioning, it has emerged that Rahul had travelled to Mumbai in January to conduct a recce for the murder of Salman Khan. He went to the actor’s house in Bandra for the purpose and stayed in the area for two days,” said Rajesh Duggal, DCP Faridabad. 
 
“He conducted this recce at the behest of Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra, another member of the gang, who had also conducted a recce to plan for the same crime before he was arrested in June 2018,” he said. 
 
Nehra had been arrested from Hyderabad for allegedly plotting the actor's murder back in 2018. He was also given the job by Bishnoi. 
 
Lawrence Bishnoi had been holding a grudge against Khan ever since he had killed two blackbucks in 1998 in Jodhpur, the police state. The gangster belongs to the Bishnoi community which revers blackbucks. 
 
“Rahul conducted the recce on the directions of Bishnoi and later apprised him of the findings. However, they were unable to take their plan to the next stage because of the coronavirus outbreak,” said the DCP. 
 
“Between 2016 and 2018, he was working at the ESIC Hospital in Faridabad on a temporary basis. In 2018, he was arrested by the Crime Branch Badkhal for possession of an illegal weapon. After being released on bail, he joined the Bishnoi gang in August 2019,” said DCP Duggal.

The murder, for which Rahul was actually arrested, took place on June 24. According to Police, Rahul was also involved in two cases of car snatching in November 2019 and also enabled the release of two prisoners from police custody.

While interrogating, it was revealed that Bollywood actor Salman Khan was on his radar next and he had even conducted a recce in Mumbai earlier this year in January for it. Bishnoi is currently serving jail time in Rajasthan. According to police, the accused, Rahul hails from Bhiwani and was arrested from Uttarakhand on August 15. He is accused of murdering Praveen, a Faridabad resident who ran a ration depot, on June 24. “During questioning, it has emerged that Rahul had travelled to Mumbai in January to conduct a recce for the murder of Salman Khan. He went to the actor’s house in Bandra for the purpose and stayed in the area for two days,” said Rajesh Duggal, DCP Faridabad. “He conducted this recce at the behest of Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra, another member of the gang, who had also conducted a recce to plan for the same crime before he was arrested in June 2018,” he said. Nehra had been arrested from Hyderabad for allegedly plotting the actor's murder back in 2018. He was also given the job by Bishnoi. Lawrence Bishnoi had been holding a grudge against Khan ever since he had killed two blackbucks in 1998 in Jodhpur, the police state. The gangster belongs to the Bishnoi community which revers blackbucks. “Rahul conducted the recce on the directions of Bishnoi and later apprised him of the findings. However, they were unable to take their plan to the next stage because of the coronavirus outbreak,” said the DCP. “Between 2016 and 2018, he was working at the ESIC Hospital in Faridabad on a temporary basis. In 2018, he was arrested by the Crime Branch Badkhal for possession of an illegal weapon. After being released on bail, he joined the Bishnoi gang in August 2019,” said DCP Duggal. The murder, for which Rahul was actually arrested, took place on June 24. According to Police, Rahul was also involved in two cases of car snatching in November 2019 and also enabled the release of two prisoners from police custody.

Blackbucks are found in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and other parts of the country. The blackbuck is considered the most handsome member of the bovine family. Measuring a length of 120cm, with a height of 60 to 80cm, they weigh nearly 30 to 40kg.

The males have 50-60cm long horns while the females are hornless. Blackbucks do not shed their horns.&nbsp;

The quantum of punishment is yet to be decided. Even if he is sentenced to jail, he will in all likelihood get bail and will in all probability appeal to the higher court. But one thing is for sure that the community which protects the animal like one of its on, will continue to put pressure and fight till they get justice.&nbsp;

The shooting of Race 3 was stalled on Tuesday by the Mumbai police and Salman Khan was escorted back home from Film City, Mumbai by the cops after the actor received death threats from a gangster from the Bishnoi community that worships black bucks.&nbsp; 
 
The threats were made last week by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi when the actor was in Jodhpur for the hearing of the Black Buck case. Following the threat, the actor was taken to Jodhpur court amid heavy security.&nbsp; 
The blackbuck case, in which Salman is charged with poaching the animal, has been going on in Jodhpur for the last 10 years. 
 
According to media reports, the police arrived at the Race 3 set in Film City and told Salman and producer Ramesh Taurani that the shoot needs to be stopped immediately and the actor needs to head home as soon as possible. Salman was then escorted home by six cops and asked to maintain a low profile for a few days.

A senior police officer, while speaking to Mumbai Mirror said, &quot;A senior police officer said, &ldquo;We are taking Bishnoi&rsquo;s threat seriously but we have assured Salman that he will receive maximum police protection. We are also investigating the motive behind Bishnoi&rsquo;s threat to Salman.&rdquo; 
 
Confirming the threats to Salman, his father Salim Khan said, &quot; While I don&rsquo;t know the exact details about when he left the sets, I do know that there were some threats. But Salman has a good team of security personnel. This is not the first time that he is getting such threats. In this industry, people keep getting such threats a lot.&rdquo;
