Porter began filming on his directorial debut 'What If?' last month in Pittsburgh. The film is also a modern coming-of-age story that follows a trans high school senior navigating an unexpected relationship.

‘Bridgerton’ star Phoebe Dynevor has been roped in for a new series in development at Amazon. The new TV series explores contemporary romance with a twist and will have Phoebe attached to the project to star and executive produce for Amazon Studios.&nbsp;

The project is based on Irish writer Naoise Dolan’s debut novel. Cooper Raiff will co-write the TV adaptation with Dolan and is also slated to direct.

Based on Naoise Dolan’s novel, the series titled ‘Exciting Times’ is best described as “bracingly intelligent, hilarious and raw.” It centers on Ava, the role Phoebe Dynevor is in talks to play. Ava is an Irish transplant abroad teaching English grammar to wealthy children, who becomes entangled in a love triangle with banker Julian and lawyer Edith.

Dynevor, Dolan and Raiff executive produce alongside Black Bear’s Teddy Schwarzman, Ben Stillman and Michael Heimler. The original series will be produced by Amazon Studios in cooperation with the Estate of J R R Tolkien, publishing house HarperCollins, and New Line Cinema, a division of Warner Bros.&nbsp;However, the series will not be a retelling of Peter Jackson&#39;s Oscar-winning trilogy. It will explore story set before the events in the first LOTR novel, The Fellowship of the Ring. 
 
Warner Bros and the Tolkien estate have been shopping a series based on the classic fantasy novels and their assortment of hobbits, wizards, and warriors, sparking a competitive situation from which Amazon emerged as the victor. 
 
Launched at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival with The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,&nbsp;Jackson&#39;s trilogy was a global phenomenon.
