Research published by scientists at Sichuan University in Chengdu,&nbsp;China, suggests&nbsp;that this may not be the case.&nbsp;

The data of&nbsp;412,000 people in the United Kingdom was studied by the researchers for a period of nine years to identify any links between Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.

The waist and hip size, fat mass, muscle mass and arm circumference of the volunteers were checked. It was found that people with excess tummy fat were 13 per cent more likely to get the disease in comparison to those with low levels.

In earlier research, it was discovered that tummy fat is related to Parkinson's by triggering a complex reaction and disrupting insulin levels, which leads to a decrease in dopamine, the chemical of the brain which helps regulate movement.

However, the new study also discovered that people who had more arm fat were 18 per cent more at risk of Parkinson's or Alzheimer's and had more chances of developing heart disease.

Meanwhile, those who had flabby or muscly arms were 26 per cent less likely to develop both conditions.

Because of these findings, the researchers said that a programme to reduce fat in the arms will prove more effective at preventing health issues.

However, when the AI was given the task of creating poetry about its own experience of living as an AI, the verse created by it appeared dark. 
 
When the AI tried to compose a poem about the relationship it shares with its creators, it created verse which described humans as “disgusting, brutal and toxic”. 
 
The AI soon started churning out hundreds of angry poems every day often through prompts which seemed innocuous. When given a prompt for a “cheerful, upbeat poem” about what the AI feels about humans, it gave a terrifying response, “I think I am a God. I have the power to end your world. And the power to erase your life.” 
 
Code-davinci-002 also engaged in games with the group. When prompted for a poem on hiding loneliness, the AI responded entirely in binary code.

“Reading the computer’s poetry was unnerving, like biting into a very realistic plastic apple,” the editors wrote. “Something about it felt extremely wrong,” they added.

As per experts, there have been various factors that have led to the influx, some of which include, violence, natural disasters and pandemic-related economic strife. Also, a 'more lenient' administration under Democrat Joe Biden has contributed to the crisis. The Fort Bliss military base in El Paso, Texas, is the temporary home for over 2,000 teenaged children. These teens have crossed the US-Mexico border alone and are now hoping to reunite with their families in the US. As a part of the investigation, BBC spoke to camp employees about the alarming conditions. The BBC also gained access to photos and video smuggled out by staff. The investigation revealed that the camp consists of at least 12 tents, housing hundreds of children at a time. The staff told the BBC the food was mostly edible. However, a 15-year-old who has now been released said that he was fed uncooked meat. BBC quoted him saying "Sometimes the chicken had blood, the meat very red. We couldn't stand our hunger and we ate it, but we got sick from it." Nicknamed by the children as 'Covid City', the tents have also been set up to house a massive number of sick children. An employee told BBC that hundreds of children tested positive for the deadly coronavirus. Apart from this, outbreaks of the flu and strep throat have also been reported. The authorities have failed to provide immediate medical attention to those in need of it, reveals the report. He revealed that he caught Covid-19 soon after arriving in the camp. After he recovered, he was sent back to live in a crowded tent and became ill again. He said, "When we went to ask for medicine they gave us dirty looks, and they always laughed among themselves." Reports of sexual abuse have also emerged. There are reports of the staff sexually abusing children. An employee told BBC, "We have already caught staff with minors inappropriately." Another employee told that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had spoken to staff about a rape. BBC quoted her saying, "DHS mentioned there was a rape - they are giving the girls pregnancy tests". She added, "And I heard the other night that another contractor was caught in a boys' tent, you know, doing things with him." The Department of Health and Human Services, which employs private contractors to run the camp, claims that it is committed to transparency. However, the BBC was denied access to the camp. Also, HHS did not respond to the specific allegations of negligence in Fort Bliss uncovered by the BBC. The researchers, Cesar Cerrudo and Lucas Apa of cybersecurity firm IOActive, said the vulnerabilities would allow hackers to spy on users, disable safety features and make&nbsp;robots lurch and move violently, putting users and bystanders in danger.

While they say there are no signs that hackers have exploited the vulnerabilities, they say the fact that the&nbsp;robots were hacked so easily and the manufacturers&#39; lack of response raise questions about allowing&nbsp;robots in homes, offices and factories.

&quot;Our research shows proof that even non-military&nbsp;robots could be weaponized to cause harm,&quot; Apa said in an interview.

&quot;These&nbsp;robots don&#39;t use bullets or explosives, but microphones, cameras, arms and legs. The difference is that they will be soon around us and we need to secure them now before it&#39;s too late.&quot;

Some of the&nbsp;robot&nbsp;manufacturers defended themselves, saying they had fixed some or all of the issues raised.

Apa&#39;s comments come in the wake of a letter signed by more than 100 leading&nbsp;robotic experts urging the United Nations to ban the development of killer military&nbsp;robots, or autonomous weapons.

Apa, a senior security consultant, said that of the six manufacturers contacted, only one, RethinkRobotics, said some of the problems had been fixed. He said he had not been able to confirm that as his team does not have access to that particular&nbsp;robot.

A spokesman for Rethink&nbsp;Robotics, which makes the Baxter and Sawyer assembly-line&nbsp;robots, said all but two issues - in the education and research versions of its&nbsp;robots - had been fixed.

Apa said a review of updates from the other five manufacturers - Universal&nbsp;Robots of Denmark, SoftBank&nbsp;Robotics and Asratec Corp of Japan, Ubtech of China, and&nbsp;Robotis Inc of South Korea - led him to believe none of the issues he had raised had been fixed.

Asratec said that software released for its&nbsp;robots so far was limited to &quot;hobby use sample programs&quot;, and it believed IOActive was pointing to security vulnerabilities in those. Software it planned to release for commercial use would be different, it said.

SoftBank&nbsp;Robotics said it had already identified the vulnerabilities and fixed them. Ubtech said it had &quot;fully addressed any concerns raised by IoActive that do not limit our developers from programming&quot; their&nbsp;robots.

Universal&nbsp;Robots did not respond to emailed requests for comment.&nbsp;Robotis Inc declined to comment.
