"The NITI Aayog, an institution under the Central government, also believes that Delhi`s governing model is the best and if we look at the numbers of innovation index list, then Delhi is far ahead of other states," AAP leader Ajoy Kumar said in a press conference.

He asserted that the National Capital is ahead of other states in education, health, electricity and water.&nbsp;

Hitting out at the BJP government at the Centre, Kumar said that while the AAP is working day and night to make the life of the people of Delhi easier, the BJP leaders are unhappy with these pro-people initiatives.

Referring to BJP MP Vijay Goel, he said that Goel objected to free electricity being provided to the people of Delhi. "I want to tell Goel that as an MP gets 50,000 units of free electricity annually, he should sacrifice that free electricity and pay the electricity bill. If he can get free electricity then why can`t common people get the same," asked Kumar.

Stressing on Delhi`s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), he said: "On the basis of savings in electricity only, today the people of Delhi are getting benefits ranging from about Rs 2,400 crore to Rs 3,800 crore. When the people of Delhi spend this money for their families, then the GDP of Delhi gets a boost. That is, there is an increase in GDP of Delhi from about 2400 crore to 3800 crore."

It also pointed out that Congress candidate Atanasio Monserratte in his affidavit for the upcoming bypoll has mentioned his I-T returns for 2015-16 as Rs 24,50,076, which is Rs 34,746 less than the Rs 24,84,822 figure submitted by him in his 2017 Assembly election affidavit.

While comparing his 2017 and 2019 affidavits, though Monserratte's net worth went down by about Rs 9 crore in last two years, he declared Rs 1,69,84,756 as his I-T returns for 2017-18 and Rs 33,33,822 cash in hand each (self and spouse) on the date of filing nomination on April 29, the ADR said.

When contacted, North Goa's district election officer R Menaka said she will look into the matter. Naik and Monserratte could not be contacted for their response to ADR's findings.

In the 2017 Assembly polls, BJP leader Siddharth Kunkolienkar won the Panaji seat located in North Goa district, while Monserratte, who then contested as an Independent, stood second, and Naik came third.

Kunkolienkar vacated the seat later that year to allow then chief minister Manohar Parrikar to contest and enter the 40-member Goa Assembly. The Panaji Assembly bypoll was necessitated due to the death of sitting MLA Parrikar on March 17.

The BJP has nominated Kunkolienkar to take on Monserrate, who is now contesting on Congress' ticket, and Naik in the bypoll to be held May 19.&nbsp;

Association of Democratic Reform finds discrepancies in affidavits of AAP, Congress candidates

AAP govt to convene special Assembly session on Monday to discuss attack on Kejriwal 

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said today his government will move to the Supreme Court seeking a &quot;temporary ban&quot; on the ongoing sealing drive in Delhi, after his meeting with BJP leaders on the issue ended in hostility.

A BJP delegation, led by its Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari, walked out of the meeting at Kejriwal&#39;s residence, alleging the AAP government wanted to &quot;divert&quot; the attention.

The leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, alleged that AAP leaders and workers misbehaved with the visiting members of the BJP delegation during the meeting.

Gupta charged that AAP workers entered into a scuffle with BJP workers. He said a police complaint against AAP legislators and others over the incident has been filed.

The complaint filed by Delhi BJP general-secretary Ravinder Gupta with Civil Lines police station named AAP MLAs Jarnail Singh, Akhilesh Tripathi, Rajesh Rishi and Jitender Tomar.

Tiwari said the BJP delegation walked out of the meeting as Kejriwal had converted it into a &quot;public rally&quot;.

&quot;We sensed their dangerous mood and felt that he was not interested in finding a solution to the problem,&quot; he charged.

Kejriwal said he was &quot;sad&quot; that the BJP did not participate in the meeting. He announced the Delhi government will approach the Supreme Court seeking a temporary ban on the drive being carried out by the saffron party-led civic bodies against properties allegedly violating the civic norms.

&quot;I am sad that this meeting could not take place. We will go to the Supreme Court for a temporary ban on sealing this week,&quot; he said.

Kejriwal said if the Centre, the L-G and the BJP wanted, not a single shop would have been sealed in the national capital, alleging that the saffron party was doing politics on the issue.

The chief minister said all the three municipal commissioners have sought two more days&#39; to submit a survey report to the government to change the land use of 351 roads to commercial and mixed land use so that there is no sealing on these roads in the future.

&quot;If the survey report comes in two days, we will submit it in the Supreme Court in this week,&quot; he said.

On the BJP&#39;s claim that AAP MLAs attacked its leaders during the meeting, Kejriwal said that the BJP was levelling &quot;baseless allegations&quot;.

&quot;If any MLA has misbehaved with them, I will throw him out (of the AAP)... Recently, I had written to the L-G on the sealing issue and suggested four steps to give a relief to traders, but it is unfortunate that the Centre and L-G is not taking immediate step to stop the sealing,&quot; Kejriwal said.

He added that BJP leaders wanted a &quot;closed-door&quot; discussion, but he denied it, saying there should be an open discussion on sealing drive that&#39;s why he had also called AAP MLAs and councillors for the meeting.

The AAP has demanded that the Central government should either bring an ordinance or amend Delhi Master Plan 2021 to stop sealing.
