On one hand, Indian athletes received a grand welcome with cash rewards, cars, jobs etc upon their arrival from Tokyo, Pinky Karmakar opened up about struggles she has been facing as her "dreams have been shattered".&nbsp;

Pinky Karmakar represented India as a torchbearer in the 2012 London Olympics, where India bagged a total of six medals — Sushil Kumar (Silver), Saina Nehwal (Bronze), Mary Kom (Bronze), Vijay Kumar (Silver), Gagan Narang (Bronze), Yogeshwar Dutt (Bronze).&nbsp;

During an interaction with ANI, Pinky Karmakar said, "I represented India as a torchbearer in the 2012 London Olympics. I work as a daily wager at a tea garden in Dibrugarh."

"I didn't get enough facilities from the government. I don't understand why. I was selected by UNICEF. My dreams have been shattered," she added.&nbsp;

The then 17-year-old was studying in Class 10 when she represented India at the London Olympics. She used to run UNICEF's Sports for Development (S4D) program in her school and teach about 40 women and was also an advocate of adult literacy.

"When I was 17-year-old and was studying in Class 10, I used to run a program in my school and teach about women there. It got sponsored by UNICEF," she said.

Pinky is currently working as a daily wage labourer at Borborooah tea garden. She is helping her family by supporting them financially as a daily wage labourer at a tea garden in her district.

Michael Phelps paid tribute to Hungarian teenager Kristof Milak's "beautiful technique" after he took down the American legend's long-standing 200 metres butterfly record at the world championships in South Korea.

Phelps described Milak's time of one minute, 50.73 seconds in Gwangju as "incredible", although he admitted his astonishment was tinged with sadness at losing a world record which had stood since 2009.

"As frustrated as I am to see that record go down, I couldn't be happier to see how he did it," Phelps told the New York Times.

"That kid's last 100 was incredible. He put together a great 200 fly from start to finish."

The 19-year-old Milak sliced a whopping 0.78 seconds off Phelps's previous world best, which was achieved during the bodysuit era, after flirting with the record for much of the past season.

"It happened because there was a kid who wanted to do it, who dreamed of doing it, who figured out what it would take to do it," said Phelps, who had a special fondness for the 200m fly.

"(He) worked on his technique until it was beautiful and put in the really, really hard work that it takes to do it - my hat's off to him."

Milak became the first swimmer to go under 1:51 minutes, while his winning margin was, remarkably, more than three seconds as Japan's Daiya Seto finished a distant second and the South African Chad le Clos third.

Le Clos, who famously beat Phelps in the 2012 London Olympic final, shrugged: "Kristof is in another league - he's a hell of a lot faster than all of us."

Milak said he was "honoured" to break a world record held by Phelps, who he had worshipped growing up and watched videos of to polish his technique.

"I wasn't expecting to break the record," he admitted. "But if you put in the hard work, good things happen and I was ready. I just tried to block everything out and find a good rhythm."

Five weightlifters suspended after London 2012 retests

Russian athletes, Yulia Gushchina and Anna Nazarova, have been disqualified from the 2012 London Olympics after retesting of doping.

Gushchina was part of women&#39;s 4x400m relay team that won silver. She also competed in the 400 meters in London but was failed to reach the final.

But Russia was stripped of their medal in February 2017 after a retest following Antonia Krivoshapka&#39;s positive test.

Anna Nazarova, who was fifth in the long jump, was also found to have tested in positive.

The re-testing of samples from London and from the 2008 Beijing Games has led to more than 100 new cases of doping mostly in weightlifting and athletics.

Russia&rsquo;s athletics federation is currently banned from the sport as is its Paralympic Committee and anti-doping organisation in the wake of widespread doping offences.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said that the retested 584 samples from London and 49 of those have come up in positive with 21 coming from Russia only.

Whether Russia will be competing in 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea will be decided by next week after the International Olympic Committee&nbsp;meeting.
