It will be a top-of-the-table clash in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday (April 16). With the top spot up for grabs, a win for either side will see them firmly stamp their authority for a place in the playoff. Interestingly, KKR are unbeaten at home this campaign while RR are yet to lose a match while travelling, making Tuesday’s contest an unpredictable prospect.
KKR are one of the teams in form this campaign and are firing on all cylinders having already beaten the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals. On Sunday they got the better of Lucknow Super Giants in a one-sided contest to stay in the race for a top-two finish. KKR’s only defeat so far has come against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and will look to claim the top spot with a win against RR.
While there were key absentees during their last match against Punjab Kings, RR still managed to manufacture a formula to win. Shimron Hetmyer was the hero for them having helped secure a thrilling win. RR like KKR have also suffered only one defeat which came at home against Gujarat Titans, when Rashid Khan pulled off a last-ball finish.

Kolkata Knight Riders are unbeaten at home in IPL 2024 and will look to extend that record while Rajasthan Royals are yet to lose an away match. It will be a tight contest, but with home advantage at their disposal, we predict KKR to just edge the contest and beat RR.
