Live: Take a look at different Olympic teams as they enter the stadium

As is custom, Greece is the first nation to enter the Olympic Stadium at the Olympics opening ceremony.

Representatives of the nation can be seen wearing Grecian national colours Blue and White. Interestingly blue denotes the sky, seas while white represents the purity of its independence struggle.

This is the second time that the Refugee Olympic team is taking part in Olympics.

This team's journey started back in 2016 at the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The team which started with merely 10 members, with 29 athletes has almost tripled in size. 

A new Refugee Paralympic Team is also being formed this year.

The athletes from Argentina are exuberating joy and confidence as they gather for a picture.

Resplendent in their dresses of Red and Black, Angola has entered the stadium.

Red stands for the bloodshed that this nation witnessed during Angola's colonial period, independence struggle, and the blood that was shed in defense of the country. Black represents the dark continent of Africa. 

For the 2026 Winter Olympics host, Italy, carrying the nation's flag are Jessica Rossi and Elia Viviani. 

Carrying the flag for Israel are Hanna Minenko and Yakov Toumarkin.

Great Britain comes in the fourth spot with 65 medals. This includes 22 gold, 21 silver, and 22 bronze. 

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has set cash prizes of Rs 75 lakh ($100,000 - approx.) for gold medalists and Rs 40 lakh and Rs 25 lakh for silver and bronze respectively. However, the state governments announced additional cash benefits to motivate their athletes to medals at Tokyo Olympics.
