This would have been an interesting collaboration. Rohit Shetty's upcoming film Simmba has been in news ever since its inception. From Ranveer Singh collaborating with Rohit Shetty to Sara Ali Khan coming on board as the female lead to even the fact R Madhavan was to play an antagonist- all news around the film has created a lot of buzz.

However, it looks like Maddy will not be a part of the project anymore. The actor took to Twitter to announce his decision.

Madhavan wrote, “Hey folks .. So I am a huge crazy fan of Rohit Shetty and his films. As is my son. It breaks both our hearts that I’m not able to be a part of this film because of my injury. I’m well on my way to recovery but this is a huge opportunity and excitement lost.”

The actor had recently undergone a shoulder corrective surgery for an injury that he incurred while working out in the gym. The actor has even shared a photo of himself from the hospital bed.

Simmba, directed by Rohit Shetty, is reportedly based on Telugu film Temper. The film is being co-produced by Karan Johar and will feature Ranveer Singh as a cop. It is slated to release in December 2018.
