Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram heaped praise on Congress president Rahul Gandhi after the party put up a good show in the recently concluded Gujarat elections.
Immediately after it emerged that BJP has managed a clear majority in the hustings, the Congress leader tweeted ''What a victory! In Gujarat, the winner limped across the finish line with a young sprinter close on his heels.''
In another tweet, he said ''There is an electoral victory and there is a political victory. Need I say who is the political victor in Gujarat.''
The Congress has returned a morale-boosting performance in Gujarat under the stewardship of Rahul Gandhi, he added.
