In a statement, Huma expressed her excitement at getting the opportunity to represent India at one of the most celebrated and watched film festival of the world. Huma will join Kangana Ranaut and Jim Sarbh who will be there as part of the brand. The three Bollywood actors will be at Cannes as part of 40 prominent influencers that have been chosen by the brand from across the globe.
Other Indian actors at the red carpet will be Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone who will walk on behalf of cosmetic giant L’Oreal for 16, 7 and 1 year respectively.
Indian films which are going to Cannes include Nandita Das’ Manto, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rasika Duggal. The biopic made on esteemed writer Saadat Hasan Manto will compete in the Un Certain Regard segment of the festival. Nakkash, featuring Inaamulhaq, will also be part of the festival while Sir, starring Tillotama Shome, will be screened at sidebar Cannes Critics’ Week.
