Gujarat Congress chief Bharatsinh Solankion Thursday alleged that BJP is responsible for the''fakeresignation letter with mysignature on it''.
Just a week after the fake candidate list surfaced, Solanki's resignation letter withhis signature on it --addressed to Congress president Sonia Gandhi -- has gone viral on social media, reports said.
Solanki also took to Twitter to clarify that the letter was fake, and blamed the ruling BJP for "spreading lies on social media".
"A fake resignation letter is going around on social media with my signature, claiming that I have resigned from the presidentship of Gujarat Congress. It is completely fake and I have issued no such letter," Solanki tweeted.
Solanki added that this was BJP's doing since they were 'nervous, scared and rattled' by the Gujrat elections and are spreading wrong information.
The Congress said it will file a complaint with the Election Commission on this issue.
"The BJP is nervous and rattled by the surging popularity of Gujarat Congress. We will meet the Election Commission tomorrow regarding this issue and to lodge a complaint against the BJP," Solanki said in another tweet.
