Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have offered their blood to help develop a vaccine after recovering from the coronavirus.
The veteran actor revealed in an interview with NPR’s podcast 'Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!' that they both have volunteered to donate blood for COVID-19 research

“A lot of the question is, is what now? What do we do now? Is there something we can do? And, in fact, we just found out that we do carry the antibodies,” Hanks said.
The 63-year-old actor jokingly shared his opinion on what vaccine should be named.

“We have not only been approached, but we have also said, ‘Do you want our blood? Can we give plasma?’ And, in fact, we will be giving it now to the places that hope to work on what I would like to call the ‘Hank-ccine,’” the actor further added.

They were the first celebrities who were tested positive for the virus last month when they were in Australia for a shoot, and have since recovered and are now isolating in their home in Los Angeles.
