Rishi Kapoor breaks silence on his cancer treatment: God has been kind

Actor Rishi Kapoor has for the first time opened up about his Cancer treatment and how he has learnt to be patient while undergoing treatment. It was in September 2018, when the actor had announced on Twitter that he would be taking a break from work and travelling to America for medical treatment.
His illness was not specified, though speculations were rife that the actor was suffering from Cancer. Now, on Wednesday, filmmaker Rahul Rawail put all speculations to rest as he announced on Facebook that 'Rishi Kapoor is cancer-free'.
"God has been kind! I am in remission, meaning now I am cancer-free," the actor said during an interview to a daily for the first time since he went to the US for treatment.
Although he is now cancer-free, it will take him another two-three month to back to normal life. "I will have to do a bone-marrow transplant which in all probability should take another two months minimum.” However, the actor was upbeat about returning home soon. “Being in remission is a big thing and it’s all because of my family and my fans prayers and duas that have worked. I thank them all, " the actor added.
The actor credited his wife Neetu Kapoor for being his biggest support through this illness,"Neetu has stood by me like a rock. Otherwise I am too difficult a person to handle as far as food and drink are concerned."
The actor also said that illness brought him closer to his son, Ranbir. "My kids Ranbir and Ridhima have really shouldered my problems.”
The family along with Ranbir Kapoor's girlfriend Alia Bhatt had recently spent the New Year's together in New York. Neetu Kapoor had shared photos of the celebration and hinted at the actor's ongoing Cancer treatment as she captioned the image as, " Happy 2019 no resolutions only wishes this year !!! Less pollution traffic!! Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign !!! No hatred less poverty loads of love togetherness happiness n most imp. Good health.(sic)"
In September, Kapoor had tweeted, "Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years “plus” of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes,I will be back soon."
