Talking about the India-NZ Test series, Rohit-led hosts lost the three-match Test series opener at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru by eight wickets. After a washed out opening day, India opted to bat first -- in challenging conditions -- and got dismissed for 46 (their lowest-ever scoreon home soil) courtesy of pacer Matt Henry's 5 for 15. In reply, the Kiwis posted 402 and, thus, took a mammoth 356-run lead, riding on Rachin Ravindra's 134, Devon Conway's 91 and Tim Southee's 65.
While India fought back and posted 462, thanks to Sarfaraz Khan's 150 and Rishabh Pant's 99, they only set a 107-run target for the visitors, who chased it down on the final day on Sunday (Oct 20) to take a 1-0 lead.
The second Test starts on Oct 24 (Thursday) with the home side eager to settle scores and keep the series alive.
