Member of the European parliament Neena Gill has slammed Pakistan for not able to protect minorities in the country, human rights violation in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and its lack of action on terrorism.

Speaking during a discussion on Kashmir, Gill said, "To those members who have spoken today of their indignation towards India, I am astonished by your partiality, oversight and lack of any real empathy with the Kashmiris. Why do I say partial?"

"When Pakistan took the same measures in Gilgit and Baltistan, we didn’t speak up. When they gave away territory, which wasn't theirs, to China, we didn't speak up. Or when Sikhs and other minority women are abducted and forced to convert, we don't speak up. The fact is, there are human rights violations in PoK and very many honourable colleagues look the other way," Gill added.

Weeks ago a Sikh girl in Pakistan's Punjab province, Jagjit Kaur, was abducted and converted to Islam causing an international outcry.

Rapping Islamabad for its support to terror, Neena said, "The solution to Kashmir will come when state-sponsored terrorism and global misinformation by Pakistan ends, then dialogue will follow."

"Pakistan may talk the talk but it does not walk the walk when it comes to human rights... And I say to those colleagues concerned about rescinding of Article 370, you focus on one part and ignore the other issues that are dear to the hearts of many of us. Not only will it improve the rights of LGBT, women, minorities, it will also improve environmental protections amongst others and ban the outrageous triple talaq divorce," she added.

Pakistan has been trying to rake up Kashmir globally but hasn't found any traction. Last month at the United Nations Security Council it tried to rake up issue via China but other members of the UNSC did not support for an emergency session on Kashmir.

Even as Pakistan has denied an overflight to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flight, India has said it, "hopes (Pakistan) will realise the folly of its actions".

Calling Islamabad's action as "unfortunate", foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale in response to a question said, "as far as going to an international organisation is concerned, it will take look at that. So far there is no intention to do so. If they are in violation of the regulation of civil aviation organisation, that is a possibility we can certainly consider".

The rejection can be considered as a violation of ICAO or International Civil Aviation Organization charter. Under the charter, unless its war, denying the use of airspace by singling out cannot be done by any country.

New Delhi can take Pakistan to ICAO where the country can be slapped with a heavy fine.

This is the second time in a month that Pakistan has denied an overflight to an Indian VVIP. Earlier this month, Islamabad denied permission to President Ram Nath Kovind's plane during his Europe visit.

On Wednesday, strongly reacting to Islamabad's decision, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, "Pakistan should reflect upon its decision to deviate from well established international practice, as well as reconsider its old habit of misrepresenting the reasons for taking unilateral action."

PM Modi will be in the United States from September 21 to 27 for big-ticket events like the diaspora event in Houston and the address to United Nations General Assembly.

The Nepal Rastra Bank(NRB), the central bank of Nepal had conveyed a special meeting of all Nepali banks to discuss the issue on September 9 and 10. The matter was to be raised with Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi during his visit to the country earlier this month but Nepal officials decided not to raise the issue at the end moment to avoid embarrassment. India has made it clear that it wants Islamic preacher Zakir Naik who has taken permanent residency in Malaysia back and is working towards it. External affairs minister S Jaishankar said, "Let me make it very clear for a record, there is extradition for Zakir naik, we want him back and that is what we are working on." The development comes in the backdrop of Malaysian PM Mahathir bin Mohamad rejecting the claim that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked for Zakir Naik to be extradited to India during the bilateral meet on the sidelines of Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok earlier this month. "Not many countries want him (Naik). India has not insisted. I met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he did not ask me that he wants this man back. This man could be troublesome for India," Mahathir was quoted as saying during an interview with Malaysian radio station BFM`s show, the Breakfast Grille. Jaishankar said, "My understanding of Vladivostok meeting was, that Zakir naik issue did come up and the expectation was communicated from our side that officials concerned should meet quickly and sort out this matter to our satisfaction." India had sent its extradition request in January of 2018 to Malaysia and "from January 2018, we have been persistently and relentless pursuing this matter at all levels" Jaishankar explained. Born in Mumbai, Zakir Naik is wanted in India and is known for his hate speeches. In 2017, India had revoked his passport and declared him an offender. There is now growing criticism of Naik in Malaysia as well where he has been involved in hate speeches against minority Hindu population.

Two serious incidents of Pakistani workers bearing the brunt of Chinese projects, including one at a nuclear power plant, have come to light in the past couple of months.

On May 27, 2019, a serious altercation broke out between two Chinese workers and as many Pakistan staff at an under-construction K2 unit of Karachi Nuclear power project. The project is being built by Pakistan with the help of China's Zhongyuan Engineering Corp (CZEC), the overseas arm of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC).

CZEC expelled the two Chinese staff for disrespecting Islamic culture and crossing the "10 red lines" established by the company.

The company, which is the largest overseas nuclear project contractor of China said that the incident happened due to the poor understanding of the importance of China-Pakistan friendship and the belt and road initiative of the Chinese staff were involved in the incident.

To prevent any such incident in future, the company has set up Pakistani labour complaint station boxes were Pakistani workers can report any abuse and will be working with Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) to overcome language barriers and cultural differences.

But work is in full progress at the Karachi unit two and Karachi unit three of the power project.

Another incident was reported on April 10, 2019 at China Nuclear Industry Huaxing Construction Co Ltd (HXCC) labour camp in Pakistani company "Malik & co" where one person died and three others hospitalised after drinking cold drink laced with poison. They were initially taken to CZEC hospital and later referred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi and Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital.
