For those finding it difficult to believe, the man has been holding a piece of the spacecraft to prove his bizarre claim.

In an interview with CBS News, Jose Padilla said that he was just nine years old when he encountered the 'avocado-shaped' UFO in San Antonio, New Mexico. He added that he was accompanied by his friend on that day.

The two boys encountered the UFO at the Trinity nuclear test site, where the first nuclear bomb of the world was successfully tested by Robert Oppenheimer and the Manhattan Project's other members in 1945.

When he heard the sound of the crash, Padilla said that he first thought it was another bomb test, while speaking to CBS News Los Angeles.

"I told my friend, 'it must be another test from the bomb' and he said, 'No, it's not a bomb, look at the smoke coming out of the ground,'' said Padilla.

After closer inspection, they found that the smoke is coming from a crashed aircraft.

Suddenly, three extraterrestrials came out of the aircraft and started "sashaying and running in circles. They had crashed at my father's ranch, and they needed help," he added.

How did the man manage to take a piece of UFO spacecraft?

Padilla said that the wreckage was cleaned up by the military in the next ten days as he and his friend watched the process from a ridge even though they were warned to stay away from the area.

Padilla said that he entered the aircraft with his friends when the soldiers took a break and the process of cleaning up the wreckage was halted.

The "extraterrestrials" were not there which gave the perfect opportunity to Padilla to take a souvenir from inside the spacecraft.

He took a small 'dial' off the wall and kept it hidden in his garage. The artefact was analysed by Ohio-based chemical testing lab Frontier Analysis in 2015.

In the report, it was revealed that the artefact had aluminium mixed with silicon and copper, as reported by CBS Los Angeles.

This kind of mix of metals is generally found in engine parts and the report said that isotopic ratios were terrestrial, however, it did not rule out the extraterrestrial source for the metals. "No one knows what it is," said Padilla.

In a new study, scientists have suggested that advanced alien civilisations may have been migrating near miniature black holes to fulfil the energy needs of their home planets.

There is a possibility that these aliens are capturing the unlimited energy around the black holes and taking it back to their planets.

In the study, Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb has suggested that these black hole “moons” can be a sign of advanced aliens and can help scientists in understanding the life outside the Solar System.

It is known that black holes emit photons and large sub-atomic particles which are collectively called Hawking Radiation, named after physicist Stephen Hawking.

The momentum of the rotating disc of matter which is around the black hole is likely to have been utilised by the aliens to produce energy in this system, suggested scientists.

According to Dr Loeb, another way could have been to feed matter in the black hole and create Hawking Radiation.

The Harvard scientist suggested that such kinds of black holes should weigh only 100,000 tonnes.

Dr Loeb said that in exchange for the matter thrown inside black holes, they can provide “an endless supply of power”.

“This black hole system is the most efficient engine I ever thought about. The fuel is converted to energy with perfect efficiency of 100 per cent as the mass falling into the black hole is ultimately coming out as Hawking Radiation,” Dr Loeb said.

“The only other method for converting mass to radiation with this efficiency is matter-antimatter annihilation,” added the Harvard researcher.

Such black hole systems have the capacity to power roaming rogue planets which do not have a star and can otherwise become uninhabitable and frozen.

Aliens may be exploiting miniature black hole 'moons' for energy: Study

The toxic sulphur dioxide gas which had covered the skies of the United Kingdom on Saturday morning (Aug 24) will soon make a comeback and cover some parts of the country on Tuesday (Aug 27) and Wednesday (Aug 28), according to a report published by The Daily Mail.

On Saturday (Aug 24), the poisonous gas filled the skies of the country after it was released during a volcanic eruption in Iceland on Thursday (Aug 22).

Later, some parts of the toxic cloud floated across parts of Europe while some were reported hovering above the Scottish Highlands early morning on Monday (Aug 26).

The experts have now predicted that another layer of this toxic gas will come back into the United Kingdom and cover the skies of the Midlands and the south on Tuesday (Aug 27) and Wednesday (Aug 28).

When will toxic gas again fill the skies of the UK?

The second cloud of sulphur dioxide (SO2) will approach the country at around 6 am (local time) on Tuesday and will spread across the lower and middle parts of the country. It is expected to get cleared by around 7 pm (local time) on Wednesday, according to the data gathered by Czech weather portal Windy.

SO2 is produced from crude oil or coal combustion, but volcanoes also produce it in huge quantities when they erupt.

People who inhale this gas can suffer from symptoms like a sore throat, coughing, a runny nose, burning eyes, tight lungs, and can face difficulty in breathing.

Some people can also suffer from asthma and chronic bronchitis due to direct exposure to SO2.

This gas, which was emitted from coal, led to the famous London smog in 1952 when thousands of respiratory-related deaths were recorded.

SO2, when combined with water vapour present in the earth's atmosphere, leads to the formation of acid rain.

Young children and elderly people, who are especially vulnerable to SO2 inhalation, were advised to avoid exposure to the gas and stay inside.

The Met Office had stated that it was "monitoring" the gas cloud and assured that it would have "little influence on ground-level air quality".

In a novel method, the researchers and scientists will use artificial intelligence to examine 1.6 million brain scans and finally create a tool which can predict how much risk of dementia is present in a person.

The data from CT and MRI scans will be analysed by 20 experts with the use of artificial intelligence to discover patterns which can beforehand indicate the chances of a person developing such conditions.

The aim of the researchers is to create a digital tool which will help radiologists scan patients and determine their risk of dementia so that it gets diagnosed at an early stage.

The data will be safely stored in the Scottish National Safe Haven which the Public Health Scotland had commissioned to provide a secure platform for using NHS electronic data.

The project's co-leader Professor Will Whiteley of the University of Edinburgh's Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences said, "Better use of simple brain scans to predict dementia will lead to a better understanding of dementia and potentially earlier diagnosis of its causes, which in turn will make the development of new treatments easier."

Scientists have been trying to find ways to make the Moon a habitat for humans which has sustainable resources required for life to thrive on it.

Taking this mammoth task a step ahead, the Chinese scientists are now trying to establish a mechanism to produce water on the Moon using lunar soil.

Now, after finding some signs of water, scientists have attempted to produce water which can keep humans alive on the natural satellite.

Professor WANG Junqiang at the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (NIMTE) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) heads the team of scientists who have developed a way to create water from lunar soil.

How scientists are extracting drinking water from lunar soil?

The strategy for large-scale water production on the lunar surface has been created by researchers using a unique chemical reaction between endogenous hydrogen and lunar regolith. This reaction is set to help extract drinking water.

“We used lunar regolith samples brought back by the Chang’E-5 mission in our study, trying to find a way to produce water on the Moon,” said Professor WANG, as he underlined the importance of making use of authentic lunar material to ensure how reliable their experiment is.

In the experiments, it was seen that lunar regolith, when heated above 1,200 K using specially designed concave mirrors, led to the creation of one gramme of molten lunar regolith, which can produce around 51 to 76 mg of water.

According to this, one tonne of lunar regolith can produce more than 50 kg of water, which is equivalent to a hundred 500-ml bottles of drinking water.

These many water bottles can provide drinking water to 50 people for an entire day, which highlights how this can sustain human life on Earth.

The researcher also noted that lunar ilmenite (FeTiO3) is an important mineral for water extraction.

The mineral, which is found abundantly in lunar regolith, was observed to be filled with the highest amount of solar wind-implanted hydrogen.

The scientists generating water using lunar soil can also electrochemically decompose it into hydrogen and oxygen, which can provide both breathable air and renewable energy sources for lunar inhabitants.

Scientists have been investigating the core of the Earth, which has become home to some of the most “extreme features" of a planet hidden deep in underground.

Now new research has found that the mysterious zones, which are present in the deep mantle underneath some places where earthquake waves have slowly moved, may actually have been spread across the entire planet.

The existence of these zones in the Earth's lower mantle, which are ultra-low velocity zones (ULVZs), was already known to scientists. However, unlike the new idea that these zones are widespread, these zones were earlier said to be present in the regions where hot rock moves and creates volcanic island chains like Hawaii.

The experts have now discovered that these mysterious black hole zones can slow down seismic waves by around 50 per cent, however, scientists are unaware of what they are made of or what their exact role is in the process.

"Here's one of the most extreme features that we see anywhere inside the planet," said geophysicist Michael Thorne, of the University of Utah, while speaking to Live Science.

"And we don't know what they are, where they're coming from, what they're made of, [or] what role they play inside the Earth," he added.

Did meteors form these mysterious zones in Earth's mantle?

According to some researchers, the ULVZs may have been the remains of the giant impacts created by meteors which relentlessly bombarded the Earth.

However, as per Thorne, if they are ubiquitous, then that means such zones are getting generated actively even today.

He said that there are chances of volcanic rock basalt - which gets formed at mid-ocean ridges - making these wave-sucking structures.

Once this basalt enters into the mantle through subduction, it melts quickly and can form pockets which have slow seismic waves.

Speaking to Live Science, Thorne said that his findings revealed something was slowing the earthquake waves dramatically from scattering their energy.

It was the valleys and ridges which were present along the core-mantle boundary which were slowing the earthquake waves, he said.

Thorne said that signatures of ULVZs were detected across the planet in North America, North Africa, East Asia, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Northwest, and the western Pacific.

Thorne said that signatures of ULVZs were detected across the planet in North America, North Africa, East Asia, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Northwest, and the western Pacific. Britain's 102-year-old daredevil woman - Manette Baillie - marked her birthday by jumping from the plane at 7,000 feet above Beccles Airfield in East Anglia.

The oldest skydiver in the country took the daunting task of raising funds for three charities - the East Anglian Air Ambulance, Motor Neurone Disease Association and Benhall Village Hall.

Baillie had an adventurous life. She was appointed to the Woman’s Royal Naval Service (WRENS) in Egypt during the Second World War and had married a paratrooper.

Bailee, who has still been driving regularly, marked her 100th birthday by driving a Ferrari racing car at the speed of 130 mph at Silverstone race course.

While speaking to Radio 4, Manette Baillie said, "I really don't do fear it's no good. It's 130 miles per hour to begin with before they pull the rip cords for the parachute and then it's gently floating down."

"I play an active part in the community and people often ask me what is the secret of old age. Of course, it is luck but I would say keep both physically and mentally active and socialise!" Baillie had earlier said.

Baillie received birthday wishes from many people, including the Prince of Wales who wrote a personal letter to her and gave tips from avid parachutists.

After the controversy boiled up, the content marketing company CEO reacted to the criticism with a follow-up post on Friday (August 23).

"As expected, a mere mention of word 'Brahmin' triggered many inferior beings. Tells a lot about who real casteists are. UCs get nothing from system - no reservation, no freebies. We earn everything on our own and have every right to be proud of our lineage. So, deal with it," said Tiwari, while referring to Indian society's upper castes as UCs.

In a jackpot discovery, a British window cleaner claimed to have found William Shakespeare's first portrait to have been made in his lifetime, which is estimated to be around $264 million.

While carrying out X-rays of the painting during its analysis, art experts found that the portrait was created around 1595, when Shakespeare was 31 years old, as reported by The UK Sun.

A Japanese news anchor has lost her job and is facing intense backlash on social media after uploading a post in which she spoke about how difficult it is to "endure" the body odour of men and suggested that they need to shower more.

Tokyo-based freelance announcer Yuri Kawaguchi is known for her feminist outlook. The 29-year-old also works as a lecturer for harassment prevention training.

Taking to social media platform X on August 8, where she has around 13,000 followers, she raised her concern regarding men’s hygiene in summer, while asking them to take showers and use deodorant.

“I’m really sorry if there’s a personal situation, but the smell of men in the summer or the body odour of unsanitary people is so uncomfortable,” said the anchor.

“I want to be clean, so I take several showers a day, use freshening wipes, and apply sweat inhibitors year-round. I think more men should do this," she further wrote.

Some of the people said that the post of Kawaguchi was specifically targeting men and accused her of gender discrimination.

“Only blaming men is infuriating and undoubtedly discrimination. Women, especially older women, can have body odour too. I’m really uncomfortable with this,” wrote a male netizen.

Some even called her a “materialistic woman out of touch with the struggles of ordinary people.”

Anchor apologises for the comment, removes the post

After the controversy broke out, the anchor issued a public apology and pulled down the post on August 11.

“This time, because of my careless remarks, many people were upset and hurt. I will deeply reflect on this. In the future, I will work hard not to hurt anyone with my remarks. I am really sorry," said the anchor.

However, her agency, Voice, terminated her contract, while accusing her of “defamation of the honour of the opposite sex”.

The company which hired Kawaguchi as a lecturer also cancelled her contract.

However, the terminations of her two contracts were criticised by Japanese netizens, who called it “too extreme”. This also started a debate on whether what she said was right or wrong.

“A woman asks men to be tidy and maintain decorum, yet it triggers outrage. It just shows that Japan has been a male-dominated society for too long. No matter how dirty men are, as soon as a woman complains, they punish her,” wrote a person.

“Those who criticise her are probably just smelly men themselves. I’m a man, and I cannot stand the stench of other men – it’s just so gross,” commented another.

“If you’re not smelly, why would you feel offended by the post? If you’re clean, there’s nothing to defend,” said a user.

“Why are Japanese men so sensitive? They cannot handle a bit of criticism. Women are expected to maintain beauty, cleanliness, and fitness without complaint, yet men face no such expectations. If that isn’t gender bias, then what is?,” a third person quizzed.

Tech jobs set to surge in 2025, dataset suggests “I want to be clean, so I take several showers a day, use freshening wipes, and apply sweat inhibitors year-round. Some even called her a “materialistic woman out of touch with the struggles of ordinary people.” Anchor apologises for the comment, removes the post After the controversy broke out, the anchor issued a public apology and pulled down the post on August 11. Watch: Financial struggles of India's gig workers “A woman asks men to be tidy and maintain decorum, yet it triggers outrage. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has been on alert as two massive asteroids along with three other asteroids are flying at a scary speed towards Earth and will come very close to the planet in the days ahead.

Even though these space rocks are not likely to make an impact on the planet, their close flyby helps carry out scientific research.

Among them, asteroid 2016 RJ20 is nearly 210 feet in diameter and will make a close flyby Earth on August 30 at a distance of 4,340,000 kilometres.

Meanwhile, another asteroid 2021 JT, which is nearly the size of a bus, measures around 38 feet wide. This asteroid will come close to Earth on September 1 at a distance of 3,890,000 kilometres.

Also, three other asteroids will make their closest approach to Earth, however, none of them are threatening.

Asteroid 2020 RL will fly by Earth on August 27 at a distance of 4.68 million kilometres. The asteroid is nearly 110 feet in diameter, which is the size of an aeroplane.

Another asteroid, 2021 RA10, which is 92 feet in diameter will make its closest approach at a distance of 2.61 million kilometres on August 28.

Asteroid 2012 SX49, which is around the size of a house, has a diameter of 64 feet. It will flyby Earth on August 29 at a distance of 4.29 million kilometres.

NASA’s JPL has been closely watching these asteroids when they make their closest approach to Earth. However, they do not pose any danger to us and provide an opportunity for ongoing research.
