Moscow terror attack: Russia alleges US hiding 'Ukrainian involvement' in incident

<p>At least 93 people are believed to have been killed while over 140&nbsp;others were wounded in a shooting incident that took place at the Crocus City Hall concert venue near Moscow, Russian intel services said.&nbsp;As many as 100 individuals, who were taking shelter in the basement of the building to protect themselves from the shooting and explosions, were evacuated by the emergency services.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reports indicated that four individuals in camouflage attire opened fire at the people, leaving many wounded as the five dozen ambulances rushed to the tragic incident site to extend aid.</p>

<p>Moreover, an explosion and subsequent fire were also reported at the location of the shooting. Reportedly, the perpetrators, in combat fatigues, had automatic weapons. Videos of the incident have been circulating on social media platforms. The roof of the hall also collapsed.</p>

<p>The appalling incident took place nearly 20 kilometres from Moscow’s Red Square.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Russian media RT.com has reported that the attackers barricaded themselves inside of the building that is now engulfed in flames after the deadly shooting.&nbsp;Theatre tickets at the hall were sold out, reports added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Following the attack, Moscow has called off all mass gatherings and has bolstered security measures at airports and stations. A helicopter has been dispatched to quell the fires at the venue.</p>

<h2><strong>Scientists solve the mystery of brick</strong></h2>

<p>With the use of reconstruction technology, Moraes looked into the possibility of a brick being lodged inside her mouth while she was still alive “without damaging the teeth and even the soft tissue.”</p>

<p>Ideally, it would have been easier to place the brick inside her mouth after she perished.</p>

<p>There were also theories that a graverobber may have placed the brick inside the mouth of the corpse to “exorcise” her so that she would not bite and infect others after dying.</p>

<p>According to previous studies, the skull belonged to a lower-class European woman, who died at the age of 61.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the new study, the skull was recreated by the scientists and concocted a “brick” from styrofoam so as to determine if it was placed inside her mouth before or after death.</p>

<p>"The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack at a concert hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, the Russian Federation, on 22 March 2024,” the UNSC said in a statement.</p>

<p>"The members of the Security Council underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice," it added.</p>

<p>White House spokesperson John Kirby described the attack as “horrible”. "The images are just horrible and just hard to watch, and our thoughts obviously are going to be with the victims of this terrible, terrible shooting attack," he said.</p>

<p>A statement by Ukrainian presidential advisor Mykhailo Podolyak clarified his nation had nothing to do with the attack.</p>
