<p>He stated that the crackdown included the passage of 'Article 23', which is a national security law that is aimed at targeting several crimes such as treason, insurrection, espionage, and theft of state secrets among others.</p>

United States ‘taking steps’ to impose fresh visa curbs on Hong Kong officials

<p>The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), in an investigation, discovered that the cargo ship which led to the tragic Baltimore Bridge collapse was filled with hazardous materials and also had equipment issues.</p>

<p>It was revealed by NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy that the cargo ship had 56 containers of hazardous materials aboard. "We found 56 containers aboard containing hazardous materials, including corrosives, flammables, and lithium-ion batteries," Homendy said.</p>

<p>During the collision, some of these corrosive-filled containers were breached and led to leaks into the Patapsco River. Also, during&nbsp;the inspection conducted a concerning flaw was found in the ship’s equipment.</p>

<p>There was a faulty monitor gauge in the vessel for fuel pressure which was looked into before setting sail.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"As far as the engine goes, we were not informed of any problems with the vessel," said Coast Guard Rear Admiral Shannon Gilreath, during a news conference.</p>

<p>The Indian Navy on Friday (Mar 29) rescued 23 Pakistani nationals from a hijacked Iranian fishing vessel. The navy launched a 12-hour-long operation against Somali pirates and forced them to surrender even without firing a bullet.</p>

<p>The operation began in the early hours on Friday as Indian Navy warship INS Sumedha caught the hijacked vessel ‘FV A1-Kambar’. The operation was soon joined by another Indian warship, INS Sumedha, eventually leading to one more successful operation against piracy in the Arabian Sea.</p>

<h2><strong>Ship guided to safe location</strong></h2>

<p>A Bulgarian river cruise ship met with a mishap on Saturday (Mar 30) on the Danube river in Austria when it collided with a lock. Seventeen passengers aboard the vessel sustained injuries due to the incident.</p>

<p>According to reports, the vessel lost steering control and collided with the sides of a lock. A lock is a device used for raising and lowering boats between stretches of water and are constructed to enable the passage of boats through sections with varying elevations.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Eleven of the injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals. However, the severity of their injuries are yet to be determined, as per a police spokesperson, reported Reuters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Moreover, six others people sustained minor injuries.&nbsp;</p>

A lock is a device used for raising and lowering boats between stretches of water and are constructed to enable the passage of boats through sections with varying elevations. Eleven of the injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals. However, the severity of their injuries are yet to be determined, as per a police spokesperson, reported Reuters. Most of the passengers aboard the ship were from Germany, a report said. Notably, the vessel encountered difficulties while it was navigating through narrow locks around 9:45 pm on Friday (Mar 29). Later, there was a temporary loss of power to its electronic systems. Because of the situation, the ship was rendered unsteerable. Incident near Aschach It hit the concrete sides of the lock passage near Aschach. Aschach, a few miles upstream from Linz, is a region located in the Lower Bavaria region of Germany and is situated along the Danube River, one of Europe's major rivers flowing through many countries and serving as an important transportation route for the region. Fortunately, the vessel sustained only minor damages and was able to proceed to its next port.
