Hundreds of yoga enthusiasts gathered on the runway of Bangkok's main airport on Saturday (April 27), reaching toward the reddening sky as they laid out their mats.

Despite the early morning flights rumbling overhead, participants engaged in their yoga practice, including the downward dog pose. This unique event took place on the airport's third runway, which is still under construction.

Alongside the workout, participants were provided with beverages such as coconut, iced tea, and water to enhance their routine. Around 500 yoga practitioners and camera-ready influencers began arriving at 5:00 am, navigating in the darkness to find their designated spots on the runway.

As the sun came up, yoga instructors led the group through two sessions with high spirits, despite the pollution, industrial surroundings, and occasional airplane noise.

"Today is going to be very special," an instructor blared, before urging participants to "put your coconut in the air!"

"Feel like a beautiful bird," she said, as a plane rumbled along the concrete and lifted into the air behind the participants.

Although many attendees were influencers, possibly more concerned with capturing the perfect shot than executing the perfect lunge, most appeared to be there for a good time.

"This was something fun, this was a nice event," said lawyer Rugeradh Tungsupakul, attending with a friend.

"Right now, because of our jobs, we are too busy to go to a yoga studio," she told AFP.

Despite Rugeradh's concerns about pollution, a common problem in the smoggy city of Bangkok, which often ranks among the world's most polluted cities, she mentioned that they had checked the air quality before heading to the event.

On Friday afternoon (April 26), Omaha, Nebraska, and Iowa were struck by destructive tornadoes, causing significant damage to hundreds of homes and structures in the two states.

Three people were injured as a result of the tornadoes. Reports indicate that multiple tornadoes were seen&nbsp;in at least five US states, with the most destructive storm moving from rural areas into the suburbs northwest of Omaha, a city with a population of 485,000.

Additionally, there were 19 severe squalls and 45 hailstorms reported following a major weather event on Friday.

Social media posts showed destroyed homes and toppled trees in rural areas near Omaha due to storms. Roads were blocked by law enforcement. Many houses in Omaha, especially in the Elkhorn area, were damaged, according to Omaha police. Police and firefighters searched door-to-door to help those trapped. Omaha Fire Chief stated that teams focused on the worst-hit area&nbsp;and had a plan to search for anyone trapped.

Forecasters issued tornado warnings for parts of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas for Saturday, also cautioning about the possibility of large hail and strong winds.

On Friday(April 26), New York prosecutors announced that they had given back 30 antiquities to Cambodia and Indonesia. These artefacts, which were illegally&nbsp;obtained and traded by American networks of dealers and traffickers, were estimated to be worth a total of $3 million.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg stated that in two recent ceremonies, 27 pieces were returned to Phnom Penh and three to Jakarta. Among the returned items were a bronze statue of the Hindu god Shiva (known as the "Shiva Triad"), taken from Cambodia, and a stone bas-relief depicting two royal figures from the Majapahit empire (dating from the 13th to 16th century), which was stolen from Indonesia.

Bragg accused Subhash Kapoor, an Indian-American art dealer, and American Nancy Wiener of involvement in the illegal trafficking of antiquities.

Kapoor, alleged to have operated a network trafficking stolen items from Southeast Asia for sale in his Manhattan gallery, has been under investigation by US authorities for over ten years under the name "Hidden Idol."

Arrested in Germany in 2011, Kapoor was extradited to India, where he was tried and sentenced to 13 years in prison in November 2022.

Despite facing charges in the US for conspiracy to traffic stolen art, Kapoor denied any wrongdoing.

"We are continuing to investigate the wide-ranging trafficking networks that... target Southeast Asian antiquities," Bragg said in the statement.

"There is clearly still much more work to do."

Wiener, convicted in 2021 for trafficking stolen art, attempted to sell the bronze Shiva but eventually donated it to the Denver Museum of Art in 2007.

The United States President and Presumptive Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden, on Friday (Apr 26) said that he would participate in a debate with his predecessor and Republican opponent in the upcoming election Donald Trump.&nbsp;

<h2>‘I’m happy to debate him’</h2>

This is the first time that Biden signalled that he is willing to debate Trump ahead of the upcoming elections as well as the clearest yet on the prospect of a presidential debate.&nbsp;

“I am, somewhere. I don’t know when,” said the incumbent president during an hour-long interview with broadcaster Howard Stern. Biden added, “I’m happy to debate him.”

This comes as Biden has not previously committed to debate Trump. Last month, the incumbent US president said that his commitment to a debate with his predecessor “depends on his behavior”.&nbsp;

Similarly, when asked about the debate during a trip to Nevada in February, Biden said “If I were him, I’d want him to debate me, too. He’s got nothing else to do.”

<h2>‘ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYPLACE’</h2>

In response to Biden’s interview, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social and wrote, “Crooked Joe Biden just announced that he’s willing to debate! Everyone knows he doesn’t really mean it, but in case he does, I say ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYPLACE…”

It is worth noting that the former president has refused to debate his rivals before winning the Republican primary race last month. However, given his latest post it seems like he is eager for a one-on-one match with his successor.&nbsp;

Biden and Trump had last faced each other in two televised presidential election debates in 2020.&nbsp;

Earlier this month, a dozen leading American news organisations urged candidates to publicly commit to debating each other. The statement suggests that debates for the current race be sponsored by the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates.

Meanwhile, the Biden campaign is reportedly concerned that once on stage Trump will not abide by rules set by the Commission, while some of the incumbent president’s advisers said they prefer not to elevate Trump by putting him on the same stage as Biden.&nbsp;
