Despite this, he emphasized India's proactive efforts to open its space market with its technological prowess and dynamic startup ecosystem. “There’s a clear push by the government of India to open up the market to utilize the power and potential of India's commercial space, its technology, its skills, and frankly, the creativity and energy in that startup community.” As a result of pro active policies, American investors are increasingly interested in funding Indian startups focused on small satellites and geospatial data analysis. “Ultimately, business is about people to people,” Gullish explained, highlighting the importance of mutual understanding in fostering successful partnerships.

After the threat of prosecution started hovering over him, Haspil decided that he would kill his boss, said the prosecutors. “Over this period of time, he was planning not only to commit the homicide but to get away with it …To cover it up and how to erase his debt and prevent Fahim Saleh from testifying in criminal proceedings,” Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Linda Ford told the court. China’s grandest mosque, the Grand Mosque of Shadian, is located in a small town in southwestern Yunnan province. Till last year, the 21,000 square metre complex was a large building with a tiled green dome at the top which was adorned with a crescent moon. Four long minarets and two small domes flanked the big dome. China's 'Sinification of Islam' Nearly 100 miles from Shadian, another landmark mosque of Yunnan was also renovated recently and its Arabic features were removed. The Chinese government in 2018 published a five-year plan on the “sinification of Islam”. A part of the plan was to resist “foreign architectural styles” and to promote “Islamic architecture … that is full of Chinese characteristics”. In a leaked memo of the Chinese Communist party, it was seen that local authorities were asked to “adhere to the principle of demolishing more and building less”. Speaking to The Guardian, Anthropologist at Cornell University Ruslan Yusupov said, “Sinification of these two landmark mosques marks the success of the campaign. Meanwhile, a historian of Islam in China at the University of Plymouth Hannah Theaker said that the mosque sinicisation campaign was moved ahead “province by province”, with Yunnan being the farthest province from the capital. “By 2023, there was a sense among communities that architectural sinicisation would reach the famous Yunnanese mosques, as the last major unsinicised mosques in China," Theaker said. “In just two years, the Covid-19 pandemic erased a decade of gains in life expectancy,” said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. He noted the importance of a new Pandemic Agreement “not only to strengthen global health security, but to protect long-term investments in health and promote equity”.

Salvador Ramos, 18, had purchased the DDM4V7 rifle weeks before using it to kill 19 students and two teachers and injuring 17 others. He had purchased the weapon months after he started playing a version of the game and also posted different things about weapons on Instagram, said attorney Josh Koskoff, who was representing the families. "Preying upon insecure, adolescent boys" The lawsuits have claimed that Instagram, Activision and Daniel Defense have been "partnering…in a scheme that preys upon insecure, adolescent boys," said attorneys, in a press release. They said that Meta and Activision "enabled and emboldened firearm manufacturers' efforts to expand the market for their weapons by granting unprecedented, direct and 24/7 access to children." In the lawsuits, they also alleged that on his 18th birthday, the gunman purchased the AR-15 because "he was targeted and cultivated online by Instagram, Activision and Daniel Defense. US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin has gone through a&nbsp;"scheduled, elective, and minimally invasive follow-up non-surgical procedure" on Saturday (May 25) and has resumed his duties after returning home.

Deputy Secretary of Defence Kathleen Hicks had temporarily assumed the charge as Acting Secretary of Defence when the&nbsp;procedure was going on.&nbsp;

The procedure took place at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and is related to a previously known bladder issue.&nbsp;

In a statement, Pentagon's spokesman Major General Pat Ryder said that Austin has returned home.

"He is now back home and will continue with his official schedule which includes events on Monday for Memorial Day," Ryder said.&nbsp;

A Paris court on Friday ordered life prison sentences for three top Syrian security officials for complicity in crimes against humanity and war crimes in a landmark case.

It is the first time that France has held a trial on abuses committed during Syria's civil war since 2011.

The accused -- Ali Mamlouk, former head of the National Security Bureau; Jamil Hassan, former director of the Air Force intelligence service; and Abdel Salam Mahmoud, former head of investigations -- were all absent, but there are international warrants for their arrest.

Many in the court galleries rose to applaud after the ruling was announced.

"It is a verdict that will resonate for hundreds of thousands of Syrians who are still waiting for justice," said Clemence Bectarte, a lawyer for some of the victims in the case.

The three officials are believed to be in Syria. Mamlouk has become a top advisor to Syria's President Bashar Al-Assad.

They were accused over their role in the deaths of two French-Syrian men, Mazzen Dabbagh and his son Patrick, who were arrested in Damascus in 2013 and never seen again. They were declared dead in 2018.

At the time of his arrest, Patrick Dabbagh was a 20-year-old arts and humanities student at the University of Damascus. His father was a senior education adviser at the French school in Damascus.

Ahead of the trial, the investigating judges said it was "sufficiently established" that the two men "like thousands of detainees of the Air Force intelligence suffered torture of such intensity that they died".

Prosecutors noted during the trial that there had been systematic and widespread abuses in Syria since 2011, saying tens of thousands of Syrians may have suffered the fate of the Dabbaghs.

Several experts and witnesses who have spent time in Syrian prisons gave evidence at the trial.

"Impunity is something very difficult to live with," said Obeida Dabbagh, Mazzen Dabbagh's brother.

"Justice has to be seen. This is a very important first step, it is historic," he said.
