A teacher in Wisconsin, accused of engaging in sexual activities with her 11-year-old student, sent him more than 33,000 explicit text messages. The preliminary hearing of the case happened at St. Croix County Circuit Court where some of the texts were read out. The 23-year-old teacher hung her head in shame as the open court heard the messages.

Attorneys on both sides argued whether the evidence supported the 10 felony charges against Madison Bergmann. The Wisconsin teacher has been charged with first-degree child sex assault, child enticement and multiple counts of sexual misconduct by a school staff member.

School resource officer Traci Hall came to the stands where she told the court about the racy texts that Bergmann and the victim exchanged in the early part of this year.

Hall said that there were "approximately 33,000" texts.&nbsp;

She added that their relationship became more sexual and explicit over time.&nbsp;

Prosecutor Karl Anderson read the messages that made things extremely uncomfortable for Bergmann.

"There’s a conversation about the victim being hard, and if she felt that during their hug," he said. "Did she acknowledge that she felt it?"

“Yes,” Hall responded.

However, Bergmann's attorneys argued that the text messages alone don't support five charges of sexual misconduct.

"There is never any language where she says ‘I want to have sex with you'," argued attorney Joseph Tamburino, "or that he says ‘I want you to do this with me'."

“They talk a lot about kissing, and lips, and cheeks, and touching legs,” Tamburino stated, but "nothing like ‘this is what I want you to do to me,’ or ‘this is what I will do to you.'"

However, the judge brushed aside the argument and said the text messages were admissible evidence of sexual misconduct.

"It’s clear to me that the state has met its burden to find probable cause that the defendant has committed a felony," the judge ruled. "Clearly, there was probable cause presented by the detective today. The case is bound to go for trial."

Netanyahu said that Israel has taken out terrorists, including former Hezbollah chief Nasrallah and his successors.&nbsp;

"We’ve degraded Hezbollah’s capabilities. We took out thousands of terrorists, including Nasrallah himself and Nasrallah’s replacement, and the replacement of the replacement," Netanyahu said.

However, it was not immediately clear whom Netanyahu meant by the “replacement of the replacement”.

Earlier in the evening, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said Hezbollah's potential next leader, Hashem Safieddine, was likely killed in last week’s strike in Lebanon's capital, Beirut.&nbsp;

The statement came&nbsp;days after the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group said that they had lost contact with Nasrallah's potential successor, Safieddine, from Friday.&nbsp;

"Hezbollah is an organization without a leader, Nasrallah was eliminated, and his replacement was probably also eliminated. This has a dramatic effect on everything that happens. There is no one to make decisions, no one to act," Gallant stressed during a visit to the IDF Northern Command.&nbsp;

He further said that Hezbollah’s firepower capabilities have also taken a heavy blow.

A woman working with a charity that seeks to help people with alcohol and drug issues was caught drinking and driving in Cheshire, a county in England. The Telegraph reported that Eliza Loftus crashed her car into a tree and went hiding in the bushes after a night of drinking on April 7.

She has now been handed a 40-month ban from driving and has to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.

The alcohol level in her blood was found to be almost three times over the legal limit. Loftus is the marketing director and chief fundraiser at Be Well Stay Well.

The organisation offers counselling to alcohol and drug addicts in Nantwich. The 26-year-old pleaded guilty to drink driving at Crewe Magistrates’ Court last week.

The court was told that on the said night, Loftus lost control of her white Ford Ka just after midnight while going around a bend and smashed the car into a tree. Fearful of getting caught by the police, she then abandoned the vehicle and went hiding in the bushes.

Tara Thomas, the prosecutor, told the court that when the police arrived at the scene, a person told them that Loftus was hiding in the bush.&nbsp;

She came out, "unsteady on her feet" and was tested for alcohol in her blood. The test found 215 mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, nearly three times the legal limit of 80 mg.

Her lawyer, Patrick Kelly, told the court that she "lost control" around a bend after leaving a pub following an argument with friends.

"It is right that she was hiding behind a bush but that was due to her panic and nothing else," he said.

"When police called her she immediately came out."

Loftus has now turned to the charity she works for to get help for alcoholism. Kelly told the court, "She also works with charity Be Well Stay Well, supporting people with addictive personalities or who have fallen into addiction."

"She has now turned to them herself and has received assistance from them."

Notably, Loftus was earlier convicted in April 2022 for drunk driving and then the following month for driving under the influence of cannabis.

Hezbollah deputy leader Naim Qassem said in comments broadcast on Tuesday that his movement supports efforts to reach a ceasefire for Lebanon, but for the first time omitted any mention of a Gaza truce deal as a pre-condition to halting the group's fire on Israel.

Qassem said Hezbollah supported efforts by Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, a Hezbollah ally, to secure a halt to the fighting, which has escalated in recent weeks with Israeli ground incursions and the killing of some of Hezbollah's top leaders, including Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

"We support the political activity being led by Berri under the title of a ceasefire," Qassem said in a 30-minute televised address.

"In any case, after the issue of a ceasefire takes shape, and once diplomacy can achieve it, all of the other details can be discussed and decisions can be taken," he said. "If the enemy (Israel) continues its war, then the battlefield will decide."

Hezbollah began launching missiles at Israel a year ago in support of its ally Hamas, which is at war with Israel following the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

Hezbollah's top leaders have repeatedly stated over the last year that the group will not stop its fire until a Gaza ceasefire is reached, but Qassem's address appeared to mark a departure from that policy.

Israeli strikes have hit the group's stronghold in Beirut's southern suburbs on a nightly basis, and ground incursions expanded on Tuesday to additional parts of Lebanon's southern border with Israel.

West Asia crisis: US warns against strikes on Beirut airport as IDF pounds 120 sites in Lebanon

A son of Al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden has been barred from returning to France, where he lived for years painting landscapes in a Normandy village, after allegedly posting comments on social media deemed to have glorified terrorism.

Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau said he had signed an order banning Omar Binladin from France after the judiciary confirmed the legality of a prior deportation order issued on grounds of national security.

Retailleau gave no details about the timing of the deportation or where Binladin had been sent.

"Mr Binladin, who has lived in the Orne region for several years as the spouse of a British national, posted comments on his social networks in 2023 that glorified terrorism," Retailleau said on X.

"The administrative ban ensures that Mr Binladin cannot return to France for any reason whatsoever."

Binladin could not be reached for comment.

Pascal Martin, who helped Binladin sell his paintings, described him as a man who opposed Islamist ideology, who earned a living from his artwork and paid his taxes. Binladin was currently in Qatar, Martin said.

"We became friends and I can tell you that nothing that is being said resembles the Omar I know," Martin told Reuters.

According to local weekly newspaper Le Publicateur Libre, Binladin caught the attention of French authorities over a social media post on the anniversary of his father's birthday. Osama bin Laden was killed by US&nbsp;forces in 2011.

Reuters was not immediately able to locate the social media post. Martin said Binladin had told friends his social media account had been hacked.

The paper reported in July 2023 that police had searched for Binladin in the village of Domfort, Normandy.

"Meetings and comradely ties between us... will make a positive contribution to further consolidating the eternal foundation of the DPRK-Russia friendship," he added, referring to North Korea by its official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
