As quoted by news agency AFP, Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas met with Israeli activists in Ramallah, he said, "I welcome the agreement signed today, the end of the war, and the release of the hostages," Abbas told dozens of representatives from Israeli peace organisations assembled at the presidential palace in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
"A few months ago, (US President Donald) Trump had a plan to expel the Palestinians, but later he forgot about it," he added.

Former US President Barack Obama on Thursday welcomed the deal that will return hostages from Gaza and pause the conflict there, saying work can now begin on building a “lasting peace.”
Donald Trump projected optimism that outstanding issues not covered by phase one of his Gaza ceasefire agreement will be sorted out, even as he declined to take a position on an eventual Palestinian state and acknowledged Hamas may not be able to produce all the bodies of deceased hostages.
