The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host has taken a weeks break from the show to spend time with his family. Meanwhile, the show will be hosted by different celebrities every day of the week starting with Chris Pratt on Monday.

Pratt will be followed by Tracee Ellis Ross who will be hosting the show on Tuesday, Neil Patrick Harris will host on Wednesday, on Thursday, the great Melissa McCarthy will take the stage.

The host had previously said that his son's surgery will be taking place in October but had to postpone as his family suffered from a cold, media reports said.

Billy was born with a rare heart defect - called tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia, where the pulmonary valve was blocked and the wall had a hole - which needed him to undergo an open heart surgery as soon as he was born, followed by the surgery on Monday.

Kimmel had said that his son will have to undergo another hopefully non-invasive surgery later, possibly in his early teens to close the holes.
