Notoriously famous for pulling each other’s legs, Hollywood couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are back at it with another joke. Married to Blake and father of two girls with her, Ryan recently joked about spending a night with a man and not his beautiful wife, much to everyone’s shock.
This man he was talking about is none other than legendary comedian Steve Martin --Ryan has been a fan of since his childhood. Ryan identifies himself as an old-school Martin fan, reminiscing in an interview about seeing (and loving) Martin in the 1987 classic comedy Planes, Trains and Automobiles, which he memorized “verbatim” as a kid. In the interview, he explained how even today, Ryan is inspired by Martin’s style cues in that movie. This he says has inspired him to the level of endorsing the same brand of watch that Martin wore in the film, Piaget.
He then spoke about the idea of his dream hotel date. He said, “If I had to trade my Piaget for anything, it would definitely be for one night in a sh—y motel room with Steve Martin,” Reynolds joked to Mr Porter Journal. “I think that’s a pretty good deal, too. Yeah, pillows and all. ‘Those aren’t pillows!’”
