Emotional video of nurse singing to cancer patient goes viral

A heartfelt video of a nurse fromVanderbilt University Medicalsinging to a cancer patientwent viral on Thursday.

Olivia Neufelder,termed as the patient's 'angel', sangher favorite song"Dancing In The Sky" by Dani and Lizzy while Margaret Smith's anesthesia wore off.

"Neufelder would sing to herevery day during her stay to keep her smiling despite her declining health" said the patient's daughter, Meghan Smith.

Sixty-three-year-old Margaret Smith was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center after her health suddenly started to deteriorate.She had been suffering from liver cancer for about a year.

After a procedure, doctors refused to do a liver transplant as she was too weak and would not have beenable to recover.

She was later shiftedto a nursing home in Cookeville, where she died on Wednesday. But before leaving the hospital, Meghanposted a video on Facebook whereNeufelder is seen singing to Margaret.

Meghan expressed her gratitudeand said, "You never left her side by choice!! Words cannot describe the appreciation and love we feel for nurse Olivia who mom calls her angel! Your dedication to your patients is beyond any that I have seen, you truly are a beam of light and I cannot thank you enough for the compassion and care and love you shared for my mother. God bless you Olivia!"

The video also became a hit amongst Twitter users whoposted their reactions.

"Miss Marg has touched my heart in such an indescribable way. I am so humbled and honoured to be a Nurse. My thoughts and prayers are forever with this amazing family," Olivia wrote in a Facebook post.

The video was posted fourdays ago and has reached nearly 3.5million views as of Friday.
