Former Amazon VP says his boss seduced his wife. He got divorced and quit

Politics at work can get pretty nasty, and a former Amazon vice-president experienced the worst of it for his "pushback" in the office. Ethan Evans shared on LinkedIn about his stint working for a CEO in a startup who seduced his wife, ultimately leading to divorce.
“A CEO that I worked for seduced my wife in direct retaliation for my pushback on him at work. He won. I got divorced and left the company,” Evans wrote in his LinkedIn post.
Evans talked about bad bosses and good bosses and how he survived and moved forward dealing with it all.
He wrote that he wants people to learn from his experience of working in "political snake pits" and dealing with "snakes".
Evans worked with Amazon for 15 years after joining as a senior manager. He climbed the corporate ladder within the company and was appointed vice president of Prime Gaming in 2019. He retired from Amazon in September 2020 and now has his own newsletter for career growth solutions.

Evans stresses in the newsletter that he has "real experience working with unethical leaders." He calls his seduction and divorce story the “worst example” of manipulative and unethical leaders he ever came across in his career.
However, in one of the comments he acknowledged that his marriage had problems. “As a PS, I want to acknowledge that what this CEO did would not have worked if my then-wife had not been open to his proposition. This in turn reflects that our marriage had problem.”
“While she was not looking for a liaison at the start, in the end, she made her own independent adult choices,” he added.
Evans goes on to advise people on how to spot "the snake" and go about working with them.
"With the CEO I talk about, I had "spotted the snake" - my mistake was staying too long and getting bitten," he wrote.
"I recognized early on that my CEO in the divorce story was unethical and dishonest. My mistake was letting fear of a tough economy convince me to try to stay in the job and "win" by pushing back. It cost me far more than I ever thought it could."
Hold on to good bosses
He goes on to talk about the gift of good managers and how they are the reason he made progress in his career.
"While I “survived” bad bosses, most of my career progress came while working for good, honest, and helpful managers," Evans wrote.
"Hold on to these managers as much as you can. Help them grow and succeed so that you can stay together, and you can grow and succeed with them."
Meanwhile, internet sleuths got down to business to figure out the name of this CEO. Some of them said it was likely Jeff Bezos, but that could not be it since Evans's post calls him the CEO of a startup. He also says that he quit the company, but he stayed at Amazon for 15 years.
One of the LinkedIn comments said that the incident happened 19 years ago. According to his LinkedIn profile, he worked as the VP of Engineering at Lightningcast during this time.
