The actor penned a long note about how the 40-year-old injury had started to affect her vision until one day, she convinced herself to get treatment for it. She also thanked her industry colleagues who agreed to work with her despite the eye injury that changed her appearance a bit.<br />

Zeenat Aman shared a heartwarming picture of her son Zahaan kissing her forehead before taking her to the operation theatre. The actress also revealed that she underwent the surgery just a day after she shot for the cover of a leading international magazine.&nbsp;<br />

"I woke up early in the morning, packed a small suitcase, and kissed Lily on her muzzle. Then Zahaan and Cara drove me to Hinduja Hospital in Khar,” she wrote.<br />

<strong>Zeenat on her eye injury</strong><br />

Opening up about her eye condition, she wrote, “There has been an elephant in the room with me for the past 40 years. It is time to show this elephant the door. I have a condition know as ptosis - the result of an injury I suffered many decades ago that damaged the muscles around my right eye. Over the years, it caused my eyelid to droop further and further. And a few years ago it became so acute that it began to obstruct my vision. When so much of one’s career is predicated on one’s appearance, coming to terms with a dramatic change to it is difficult. I know for a fact that this ptosis narrowed my opportunities and made me the subject of unwanted attention. But despite the gossip, the comments, and the questions, I never felt diminished by it. It helped of course that there were always a few stalwarts that stood by me and chose to work with me still.”<br />

The actress also said that the treatments available to her at the time of injury and even much later were unsuccessful. She finally met an ophthalmologist in April this year who informed her about surgery to lift the eyelid.<br />

“I dithered for a long time, then underwent a battery of tests and finally committed to the procedure. That morning in the hospital I was terrified. My extremities turned icy and involuntarily shivers racked my body. Zahaan kissed my forehead, reassured me and wheeled me to the OT, where I surrendered to the hands of my medical team. I emerged from there an hour later - alive, well and looking like a pirate with an eye patch. Recovery has been slow, steady and is ongoing. But I’m happy to share that my vision is so much clearer now," she wrote and thanked the hospital staff&nbsp;and her family for the support.<br />

Fans and colleagues from the Indian film industry wished Zeenat a speedy recovery. Actor Abhay Deol, who will now be seen along with her and Shabana Azmi in <em>Bun Tikki</em>, commented on her post, “You’re an inspiration to so many of us. <p>Zeenat Aman is embracing her greys and inspiring others to do the same. The veteran Bollywood actress took to Instagram to flaunt her grey hair. The post was special as it was her 50th Instagram post. The actress made her debut in February earlier this year. She dedicated her milestone post to all those who are "flaunting beautiful silver hair".</p>

<p>The actor mentioned in the post that she came to know from a tweet that her grey tresses have inspired&nbsp;a few others&nbsp;to "stop colouring their hair" since she made her Instagram debut.&nbsp;<br />

In her new post, Zeenat Aman wore a vibrant green jacket over a white shirt. The actor wrote in the caption, "Grey weather, grey hair... and a splash of colour to offset it all! I didn't intend for my grey hair to be a statement, but a statement it has become. In fact, yesterday I read a tweet by someone who said they know at least three people who have been inspired to stop colouring their hair since I made my Instagram debut! I thought this was a wonderful compliment."<br />

<p>Yesteryear Indian actress and sex symbol Zeenat Khan has opened up about the allegations of obscenity against her 1978 film <em>Satyam Shivam Sundaram</em>. Directed by Raj Kapoor, the film was a romantic drama that explored the themes of inner beauty, love, and self-acceptance. The story followed Rupa (Aman), a young woman who is&nbsp;considered unattractive due to a burn scar on her face. She falls in love with a wealthy man named Rajeev (Shashi Kapoor), but he is initially repulsed by her appearance. As the story progresses, Rajeev begins to see beyond Rupa's physical imperfections and falls in love with her.</p>

<p>Sharing a photo of herself from the sets of the movie, Aman wrote, "This picture was taken by photographer J P Singhal during a look test for <em>Satyam Shivam Sundaram</em> around 1977. We shot the series at R K Studios, and my costumes were designed by Oscar winner Bhanu Athaiya."</p>

Rajji held a screening of the reel at R K Studios to gauge the response of his distributors to me in this role. After that first screening, the rights for all territories were immediately sold."</p>

<p>The film's title is derived from a famous Sanskrit saying that translates to "Truth is God and God is Beautiful." The film is known for its melodious music and compelling performances by its lead actors.</p>
