Sneha Girepunje, to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) in the State Police Service,” a government press note stated.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>According to the Indian Express report, Girepunje’s brother Akash responded to the CM’s decision, “We are pleased to hear this. It is almost impossible to fill his shoes but our family is confident that my sister-in-law will pave the way towards a great future…”</p><h3>Chhattisgarh Cabinet clears solar energy policy</h3><p>Officials stated that the initiative was taken to support the families of security personnel who sacrificed their lives while serving. In addition to the appointment of a slain police officer to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police, the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also cleared the state’s solar energy policy and enhanced support for retired journalists, as per the TOI report.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The cabinet confirmed that the state solar energy policy will remain active till 2030 or until the government come up with a new policy. Additionally, solar energy projects will receive priority industry status under the new policy.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>A government official told India Express, “Under the solar energy policy, various investment incentives, grants, exemptions and concessions are provided for the solar power generation plants to be set up in the state. In particular, there is a provision for exemption from payment of electricity duty on the plant’s own consumption (auxiliary consumption) and captive consumption within the state by every solar energy power generation project. Apart from this, solar energy projects set up under the Solar Energy Policy 2017-27 will be eligible for industrial investment incentives announced for core sector industries (except steel) under the Industrial Development Policy 2024-30.”</p>

<p>India’s national ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has declared Vishnu Deo Sai as the new chief minister of&nbsp;Chhattisgarh, a central Indian state that recently went into polls.</p>

<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP emerged victorious in the polls, winning 54 seats out of 90. The incumbent Congress party was reduced to just 35 seats while the regional party Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) managed to win just one seat.</p>

<h2><strong>Decision taken in Sunday meeting</strong></h2>

<p>The decision to elect Vishnu Deo Sai as the next CM was made in the BJP's legislative party meeting held on Sunday (Dec 10).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier, the party had selected Union ministers Arjun Munda, Sarbananda Sonowal and BJP general secretary Dushyant Gautam as observers for the state, entrusted with the responsibility of selecting the new CM.</p>

<p>According to sources, the elected legislators jointly agreed to make Vishnu Deo Sai, a tribal leader, the state’s new chief minister.</p>

<p>All three observers, elected MLAs and former chief minister of the state Raman Singh were present in the meeting.</p>

<h2><strong>Who is Vishnu Deo Sai?</strong></h2>

<p>Vishnu Deo Sai, a tribal leader, is BJP's former state chief and a former Union minister.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He held the position of State President of the BJP for Chhattisgarh from 2020 to 2022. He is also known to have close links with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), an Indian nationalist movement and the ideological&nbsp;fountainhead&nbsp;of BJP.</p>
