The news was shared by the apex cricket body on Monday (Jul 22) post their Annual General Meeting (AGM) which ran from July 19-22 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.</p>

<p>"Neither member is considered to have in place a fit for purpose detailed governance and administrative structure and systems," said the ICC in an official release.</p>

<p>Both the cricket boards have 12 months' time to fix issues, failing which they could be suspended by the ICC.</p>

<p>The ICC also initiated a review in 2024 T20 World Cup, setting up a three-member panel to review the whole tournament which ran from June 2 to 29 in the USA and Caribbean.</p>

<p>Roger Twose, Lawson Naidoo and Imran Khawaja have been named to the panel and will submit their report to the ICC later this year.</p>

<p>There were reports of over expenditure on the USA leg of the tournament and organisation part in the Caribbean after the tournament got over.</p>

<p>Among other things discussed at the meet attended by all of its 108 members, the ICC has decided to expand the Women's T20 World Cup to 16 teams from 2030 edition.</p>

<p>ICC started the women's edition of the T20 World Cup with eight team in 2009. It rose to 10 teams in 2014 edition which will continue till the 2024 edition later this year. A total of 12 teams will participate in 2026 edition before rising to 16 in 2030.</p>

<p>Speaking on cricket’s rise, Virat admitted he never thought the USA would host a multi-team cricket tournament. However, with this becoming a reality, Virat said it shows the impact of this sport in the world. In a video posted by the US Consulate Mumbai on the microblogging website X (previously known as Twitter), Virat said,</p>

<p>“Honestly, I never thought we would be playing cricket in any form in the States (USA), but now it’s a reality. That tells you about the growing impact of the sport in the world, and the United States is more than willing to accept the change and be probably the first ones on a global scale to accept it, in a way, with the World Cup,” Kohli said in a pre-recorded video.</p>

<p>“It’s a great start. It’s the ideal way to begin, and it’s going to have a huge impact. In starting off, a kind of a domino effect, and I hope it carries on for a long period of time,” the former India captain continued.</p>

<p>With America and Canada participating in their maiden T20 World Cups, Virat said the growing population of South Asians in the West has helped cricket make some space in the lesser-explored territory.&nbsp;</p>

The ninth edition of the T20 WC will be&nbsp;America’s&nbsp;first when they play their debut game in this tournament against Canada on the opening day. These two teams&nbsp;are drawn&nbsp;in Group A alongside Ireland and two Asian giants, India and Pakistan.</p>

<p>Speaking to the PTI news agency, Pisike remained transparent on his thoughts on the cricket&nbsp;tournament’s&nbsp;introduction to the US, saying it will help build up the momentum, audience, and, eventually, engagement for the LA28 Games.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“So far, cricket is predominantly an&nbsp;expats'&nbsp;game, but with the marketing and promotion activities during the World Cup, there is some momentum&nbsp;and&nbsp;the World Cup will definitely boost the opportunities to expand the game in the USA,"&nbsp;Pisike said, as quoted by India Today.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Definitely, the World Cup is bringing a lot of awareness, and&nbsp;then&nbsp;the opportunity for cricket to be in the Olympics that will definitely attract the community because the US is a&nbsp;huge&nbsp;sports country.</p>

<p>“The Olympics is the prime area where all the sports bodies&nbsp;are focusing&nbsp;on since cricket is going to the Olympics. That will actually give more opportunities to expand the sport between the World Cup and the Olympics,”&nbsp;he continued.</p>

<h2>New York ready for blockbuster tie</h2>

<p>While several venues will host games in the Caribbean, only three&nbsp;are chosen&nbsp;in the US, including New York. Pisike said the 34,000-capacity newly-built stadium in the&nbsp;city's&nbsp;outskirts will be ready in one week, which will host the marquee match between India and Pakistan on&nbsp;June 9.</p>

<p>Besides, the pitch&nbsp;to&nbsp;be used&nbsp;for the game is the drop-in one transported from Adelaide, Australia.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"So, the new stadium&nbsp;that is&nbsp;being built&nbsp;in New York will be unveiled in a&nbsp;week's&nbsp;time.&nbsp;It will become a wonder of cricketing infrastructure to put up&nbsp;in a very short time,"&nbsp;he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The pitches were recently brought in&nbsp;and dropped into the stadium.&nbsp;So, we&nbsp;are expecting decent pitches in terms of&nbsp;striking a balance between the bat and ball."</p>

<p>The ICC suspended the previous cricketing body in the country owing to government interference and appointed a new one in 2019.</p>

<p>Speaking on the same, Pisike acknowledged the changes.</p>

<p>"The governance will be streamlined&nbsp;with the opportunity to become an Olympic National Governing Body because the US Olympics requires certain guidelines to&nbsp;be followed&nbsp;and certain policies to be adopted. <p>The International Cricket Council (ICC) Tuesday announced USA Cricket as its 105th member.</p>

<p>The development is a historical milestone for the governing body established in 2017 to unify and develop the cricket community in the United States following the expulsion of USACA, the ICC said.</p>

<p>USA Cricket's application to become the 93rd Associate Member in accordance with the ICC Constitution was approved by ICC Members following the Membership Committee's recommendation to the ICC Board late last year and is implemented with immediate effect.</p>

<p>As a Member of the ICC, USA Cricket is now eligible to receive funding in accordance with the ICC Development Funding Policy and can sanction domestic and international cricket in the United States.</p>
