<p>In a joint statement, the governors of California, Oregon and Washington issued a multi-state commitment "to defend access to reproductive health care, including abortion and contraceptives" while declaring that they were "committed to protecting patients and doctors against efforts by other states to export their abortion bans to our states."</p>

<p>“Abortion is health care, and no matter who you are or where you come from, Oregon doesn’t turn away anyone seeking health care. Period. Let me be clear," Governor Kate Brown declared.</p>

<p>Washington Governor Jay Inslee said: "The law remains unchanged in Washington state," however he added that in "Washington state, Republicans have introduced about 40 bills in the past six years to roll back abortion rights and access to reproductive care.”</p>

<p>As the US Supreme Court decided to overturn the constitutional right to abortion giving states the freedom to ban the procedure, former US President Donald Trump&nbsp;declared it was the "biggest win for life in a generation".</p>

<p>"This is following the Constitution, and giving rights back when they should have been given long ago," Trump told a US television channel.</p>

<p>"God made the decision. I think, in the end, this is something that will work out for everybody," the former president said.</p>
