Pakistani passengers flying to UAE with a single name on their passports will not be allowed to enter the UAE, according to recent reports.&nbsp;The news came out when Pakistan's Serene Air said that the UAE government has revised its guidelines regarding names and will not allow passengers coming from Pakistan&nbsp;to enter UAE with a single name on their passports.

"The UAE government has revised the naming guidelines for allowing entry in the Emirates. As per the&nbsp;guideline update, passengers holding passports with only a single name and no other name – including, father name/family name – will not be accepted", the airline said.&nbsp;

The UAE said only those passengers will be allowed who have residency visas and have&nbsp;received the two doses of vaccine with the condition that 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose.

The agency said vaccination certificates approved by official authorities in the country will also be needed at the airport, however, medical personnel working in the country will be exempted, including doctors, nurses and&nbsp;technicians, whether vaccinated or not.

Exemption from vaccination has also been provided for the education&nbsp;sector for those who teach in universities, colleges, schools and institutes.

"Travel will also resume for transit passengers from all countries from which transit passengers were previously banned, provided that the traveller’s last destination is accepted and a laboratory PCR test is submitted within 72 hours from the time of departure," it said.

The directive added that "exempted groups will be obligated to submit a prior PCR test within 48 hours from the date of departure" and follow precautionary and preventive measures should be followed including quarantine and PCR checks.

The agency declared that airports will allocate special lounges for transit passengers while taking all COVID-19 precautionary and preventive measures.

The GCAA had earlier exempted official delegations and businessmen as well as golden and silver residency holders, with foreign aircraft crews also allowed in subject to the person carrying negative PCR test&nbsp;obtained within 48 hours of departure and upon arrival.

The United Arab Emirates on Monday temporarily suspended all passenger and transit flights to control the spread of novel coronavirus.&nbsp;

The Emirati officials "have decided to suspend all inbound and outbound passenger flights and the transit of airline passengers in the UAE for two weeks as part of the precautionary measures taken to curb the spread of the COVID-19", the official state news agency, WAM said.&nbsp;

They said that the move would be reviewed in two weeks and be enforced in 48 hours.&nbsp;

On Friday, the UAE reported its first two coronavirus deaths, with infections over 150 so far.&nbsp;

Abu Dhabi and Dubai have international airports and are considered as major travel hubs.&nbsp;

The latest announcement came hours after Dubai carrier Emirates said it would suspend all passenger flights by March 25.

However, it later reversed its decision, stating it "received requests from governments and customers to support the repatriation of travellers" and would continue to let passenger flights fly to 13 destinations.

Emirates had said it will continue its services to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, South Africa, the United States and Canada.

"We continue to watch the situation closely, and as soon as things allow, we will reinstate our services," the airline's chairman and CEO, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum said.&nbsp;

The Middle Eastern countries have taken various measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, especially in the air transport sector.&nbsp;
