His message underscores the U.S.'s commitment to supporting Israel’s security while also advocating for the protection of civilian lives in the conflict. Republican presidential candidate and ex-US president Donald Trump signalled Wednesday (Oct 9) that Vivek Ramaswamy may have a role in his administration if he wins the elections.

Speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump called Ramaswamy a "smart as hell" person and acknowledged he got ‘tough competition’ from him initially in the GOP nomination race.

"He's really smart, and I hope he's going to be involved in our administration," Trump said. “We can put him in charge of one of these big monsters [in government] and he'll do a better job than anybody you can think of.”

Earlier in June, Trump made similar remarks, saying Ramaswamy was a “smart guy” and that he would be a part of his team.

While citing his administration’s tough trade deal negotiations with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump said, “If I gave it to Vivek to do, he’d pull it off.”

“He’s going to be with us in some form,” Trump said of Ramaswamy.

Ramaswamy withdrew from the GOP presidential race and endorsed Donald Trump. Later, he appeared in a rally alongside Trump and declared there was not a "better choice" than the 45th. He also asked voters to do the “right” thing in elections.

"There is not a better choice left in this race than this man right here. And that is why I am asking you to do the right thing as New Hampshire and to vote for Donald Trump as your next president," Ramaswamy said at the rally.

Trump had reciprocated Ramaswamy’s gesture by saying that the Indian American leader will be working with him for a “long time.” "It's an honour to have his endorsement. He's gonna be working with us and he'll be working with us for a long time. Thank you," Trump said.

Former US president Donald Trump’s recent claim over the besieged Gaza Strip has raised eyebrows, raising questions over his knowledge of West Asia. In an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump claimed he has been to Gaza, which he said was ‘a rough place.’ The Republican leader said he travelled to Gaza “before all of the attacks and before the back and forth what’s happened over the last couple of years”, despite a lack of evidence corroborating the same.

More than 41,000 people have died in Israeli strikes on the Palestinian territory and buildings have been reduced to rubble following Hamas’ Oct 7 assault on innocent Israeli citizens last year.

Donald Trump launched a "private criminal effort" to subvert the 2020 US elections, which he lost to US President Joe Biden, alleged prosecutors in a court filing unsealed on Wednesday (Oct 2). This may be the last ditch effort to detail their case against the Republican presidential candidate before he faces off Democratic nominee, US Vice-President Kamala Harris in the Nov 5 Elections.

In the 165-page motion, Special Counsel Jack Smith argues that the historic case against Donald Trump must move forward, and the ex-president should not be shielded by presidential immunity.

The filing which was unsealed by District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is hearing the case, said Trump should not escape prosecution because "at its core, the defendant's scheme was a private criminal effort."

Smith, in the filing, said: "The defendant asserts that he is immune from prosecution for his criminal scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election because, he claims, it entailed official conduct."

"Not so," he stated, adding, "Although the defendant was the incumbent president during the charged conspiracies, his scheme was fundamentally a private one."

The special counsel alleges that to stay in office, Trump "resorted to crimes."

Colluding with "private co-conspirators" Trump launched "a series of increasingly desperate plans to overturn the legitimate election results in seven states that he had lost," states the filing which also brings to light new evidence.

Allegedly, Trump lied to state officials, manufactured fraudulent electoral votes and tried to get the-then Vice President Mike Pence to obstruct congressional certification of Biden's victory.

But, "when all else had failed," the Republican directed an "angry crowd" of his supporters to the US capitol, hoping to disrupt Biden's certification.

The damning filing claims that when a concerned White House staffer told Trump about Pence being taken to a secure location during the Jan 6 rioting, the president said: "So what?"

Another staffer, who is ready to testify at trial, also heard Trump tell a member of his family, "it doesn't matter if you won or lost the election. You still have to fight like hell."

The filing also claims that Trump fired his attorneys after the 2020 election and replaced them with Rudy Giuliani because he would willingly "spread knowingly false claims of election fraud".

After the filing was unsealed, Trump, in a post on Truth Social, claimed, "Democrats are Weaponising the Justice Department against me because they know I am WINNING."

"This is egregious PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT, and should not have been released right before the Election," he said.

Zelensky added, “Biden can strengthen Ukraine and make important decisions for Ukraine to become stronger and to protect its independence while he is US president. I think it is a historical mission after all.” Zelensky to 'most likely' meet Trump Along with Harris and Biden, Zelensky said he would "most likely" have a meeting with former US President Donald Trump on Thursday or Friday. “Our teams are in contact. Zelensky's plan to end war includes deep strikes inside Russia with US weapons

#Gravitas | A new pattern is emerging in US Politics. Former US President Donald trump is now increasingly positioning his Presidential opponent, US Vice president, Kamala Harris as a communist. Watch this report for more details!

US Elections 2024: Trump repeatedly labels Harris as a 'communist'

Former US President Donald Trump made several controversial statements about the automotive industry during a stop in Flint, Michigan, a state known for its significant role in American car manufacturing. Trump reiterated his unsubstantiated claims that Chinese automakers are constructing large factories in Mexico, threatening to impose a 200 per cent tariff on any vehicles produced in these purported facilities and exported to the United States.

Trump's rhetoric extended to predictions about the future of the US auto industry under potential Democratic leadership. He claimed that if Vice President Kamala Harris were to be elected in November, the American auto industry would cease to exist, with electric vehicle production shifting to China. This assertion contradicts current employment data in the automotive sector, which has shown growth since President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, following a decline during Trump's tenure.

The former president went on to declare that without his re-election, the US would lose its entire auto industry within two to three years, dismissing any increases under the Biden-Harris administration as temporary. He asserted that China would take over all manufacturing plants due to the transition to electric vehicles.

Trump proposed a strategy of imposing tariffs on imported automobiles to compel foreign automakers to establish factories in the US, describing it as "taking candy from a baby." However, this statement overlooks the fact that many foreign automakers already operate multiple manufacturing facilities within the United States, particularly in southern states.

Contrary to Trump's claims, Bureau of Labor Statistics data shows that auto and parts jobs have increased by 13.6 per cent since Biden took office, rising from just over 949,000 in January 2021 to 1.07 million in August. This growth contradicts the notion of a disappearing industry.

Trump's assertions about Chinese-owned auto factories in Mexico also appear to be unfounded. Industry analysts report no large Chinese-owned auto factories currently under construction in Mexico. The only Chinese presence in Mexico's auto manufacturing sector is a small assembly plant operated by JAC, which produces inexpensive vehicles from kits for the Mexican market.

The former president also promised to impose tariffs on vehicles made in countries that tax US-made vehicles. However, economists often point out that such tariffs are frequently passed on to consumers in the country imposing them, rather than achieving their intended effect on foreign manufacturers.

In response to Trump's claims, the Harris campaign issued a statement through Michigan Senator Gary Peters. The statement contended that a second Trump term would be detrimental to auto jobs and surrender Michigan's global leadership in auto manufacturing to China. Peters emphasised that Harris has a plan to bring back well-paying manufacturing jobs and ensure Michigan workers continue to lead in global auto manufacturing.
