Singer-actress Jennifer Hudson is officially achieved EGOT status. The actress-singer won her first-ever Tony Award on Sunday evening as 'A Strange Loop' won the best musical of the night. Hudson serves as the producer of the show.&nbsp; 
With this win, she has&nbsp;completed her EGOT quartet of winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.&nbsp; 
 
Hudson won an Oscar in 2007 for 'Dreamgirls' and then won a Grammy in 2009 for her self-titled album. She has won another Grammy in the subsequent years and won the Daytime Emmy in 2021 for the animated short 'Baba Yoga' which she co-produced and lend her voice to.

Hudson previously joked when asked about her plans to achieve EGOT status, "I should get two more dogs."

"I got a dog and named it Oscar, and then I won my Oscar. And then I got a dog and named it Grammy, and then I won my Grammy," she said at the time. "So I think I should get some dogs and name them Emmy and Tony — and it'll give me good luck, and I'll win. [They're] like my good luck charms."

Presented by the Broadway League and the American Theater Wing, the annual Antoinette Perry Awards for Excellence in Theatre or the Tony Awards are considered the highest honour in theatre in the US. It is equivalent to &nbsp;TV's Emmys, music's Grammys or the film industry's Oscars.&nbsp;

The 2022 Tony Awards, which was hosted by Oscar winner Ariana DeBose, kickstarted on Saturday evening at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The star-studded event saw Billy Porter, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jennifer Hudson, Danielle Brooks, Hugh Jackman, RuPaul Charles, Sarah Silverman, and Vanessa Hudgens making gorgeous appearances on the red carpet. Like every other year, the ceremony celebrated the best in the theater.

The big winners of the night were Myles Frost and&nbsp;Joaquina Kalukango.&nbsp;While Frost bagged the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for MJ, the Best Actress honor was bagged by Joaquina Kalukango for Paradise Square.&nbsp;

75th Tony Awards 2022: Simon Russell Beale, Deirdre O'Connell win big, check out full winners' list

Tony Awards 2022&nbsp;were held on Sunday, June 12th, honouring artists for their contributions to the creative industry. 31-year-old actor-singer, Ariana DeBose, who was the host of the award ceremony, delivered a hilarious performance celebrating the audience.&nbsp;

She performed a musical number during which she interacted with the audience, paying special attention to 'Spiderman' star Andrew Garfield.&nbsp;

"I am close to you, oh so close to you / I am touching you, there’s not a lot that you can do,"&nbsp;DeBose&nbsp;sang while&nbsp;laughing&nbsp;and&nbsp;poking&nbsp;Garfield&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;face.&nbsp;

Garfield wrapped his arms around DeBose as she sat on his lap and continued singing: "I’m sitting on you / ‘cause what they say is true / ‘cause there is no escaping us in the audience!"

She then rose and walked off to resume her act.

Both actors were nominated for Oscars this year, and their connection goes a long way via the Marvel Universe.&nbsp;

People took to social media and shared their reactions to her performance. Kevin Fallon, a reporter for The Daily Beast, said: "I respect Ariana DeBose for realising what is the point of hosting an award show if you don’t use that opportunity to sit on Andrew Garfield’s lap."

Meanwhile, fans too took the opportunity to agree with DeBose, saying who would miss the chance to sit on Garfield’s lap. "I relate to Ariana Debose because I, too, would come up with a song just for an excuse to sit on Andrew Garfield’s lap and poke his face," wrote a user.&nbsp;
