He added that the sleepless flight left him weary for the first practice round at Royal Troon on Sunday. “I didn’t accomplish a lot because I wasn’t in the right frame of mind,” Woods told BBC Sport.</p>

<p>“It was a long night and that’s all we watched the entire time on the way over here. I didn’t sleep at all on the flight, and then we just got on the golf course.”</p>

<p>Trump and Woods's friendship goes back a long time. The two have often played several rounds on the course together. Notably, the former president&nbsp;is an avid golfer himself and can be often seen playing.</p>

<p>During his time as president, in 2019, he awarded Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom after winning the Masters upon his return to the sport.</p>
