An exceptionally large and white 1,174-carat diamond stone has been unearthed in Botswana, a mining company announced on Wednesday, trumping another huge precious stone found in the country last month.

Botswana unearths second huge diamond in weeks 

Botswanan diamond firm Debswana said Wednesday it had unearthed a 1,098-carat stone that is described as the third-largest of its kind in the world. The stone, found on June 1, was shown to President Mokgweetsi Masisi in the capital Gaborone.
