TV host and comedian James Corden delivered a powerful message in his&nbsp;farewell speech on the finale episode of CBS' The Late Late Show.&nbsp;He&nbsp;reminded his fans&nbsp;of "what America signifies to the rest of the world". Addressing the deep rift people in the country have over&nbsp;politics, he encouraged people to look above and beyond the differences and live in harmony.

"We started this show with Obama, then Trump and a global pandemic. I’ve watched America change a lot. I’ve watched divisions grow and I’ve felt a sense of negativity boil over," Corden said. "Remember what America signifies to the rest of the world. My entire life it has always been a place of optimism. ... Yes, it has flaws but show me a place that doesn’t. Show me a person that doesn’t."

"Just because somebody disagrees with you it doesn’t make them bad or evil. We are all more the same than we are different. There are so many people who are trying to stoke those differences and we have to try as best we can to look for the light, look for the joy. If you do, it’s out there. That’s all this show has ever been about,"&nbsp;he added.

Harry Styles and Will Ferrell were the last guests on The Late Late Show. Styles, who has guest-hosted the show twice, told Corden, "As a friend, I’m so incredibly proud of you."

"On a personal note, you’ve been a safe space to me always as a friend," he added. "Selfishly very excited that you’re coming home."&nbsp;

There were also goodbyes from the other late night hosts. Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert and David Letterman all appeared in a pre-taped segment with Corden. They joked that since Corden was ending his show, they could each call dibs on one of his segments.

They all chose Carpool Karaoke, referencing Corden’s most popular sketch where he drives around Los Angeles with celebrities and sing songs. Paul McCartney, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder and Chris Martin are a few of his Carpool Karaoke passengers. The segment was such a hit that it spun off into its own series for Apple. Corden only appeared in the debut episode with Will Smith in the car.

Corden closed out the night by playing the piano and singing a song with the crew and staff gathered around the stage.

"Part of me thinks I should stay here forever but deep in my heart I just know,"&nbsp;Corden sang. "No more shows to be showing, it’s time I was going, It’s time. Thanks for watching, that’s our show."

Last year, Corden announced that his show will run for just eight seasons. He cited a desire to return to his hometown to be closer to family and loved ones.&nbsp;

Comedian and TV presenter James Corden is in news again for the wrong reason. The TV presenter delivered a monologue on Monday's episode of 'The Late Late Show' where he addressed Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter. Viewers pointed out a gag during the monologue which seemed similar to one from comedian Ricky Gervais's 2015 standup show 'Humanity'.&nbsp; 
 
Days later Corden responded to the criticism stating he delivered it "obviously not knowing it came from him." 
 
In the joke, Corden says, “When you see Elon Musk talk about Twitter he does this thing where he goes, ‘Well, it’s the town square’.&nbsp; 
 
“But it isn’t. Because if someone puts up a poster in a town square that says ‘guitar lessons available’, you don’t get people in the town going, 'I don’t want to play the guitar! I want to play the piano, you piece of s**t!’Well that sign wasn’t for you, it was for someone else. You don’t have to get mad about all of it!” 
 
On Tuesday, Corden responded to the criticism and said,"Inadvertently told a brilliant Ricky Gervais joke on the show last night, obviously not knowing it came from him. It’s brilliant because it’s a Ricky Gervais joke. You can watch all Ricky’s excellent specials on Netflix. J x."

Gervais, on his part, too drew attention to the similarities between his joke and that of Corden's but later deleted the tweet. But the veteran comedian seems to have taken it in good spirits and even defended Corden when a fan asked on Twitter if he had taken permission before using his joke. 
 
He replied, “No. I reckon one of the writers ‘came up with it’ for him. I doubt he would knowingly just copy such a famous stand-up routine word for word like that.”

Earlier in April this year, Corden said he would be stepping down as host of 'The Late Late Show.'

The CBS show is the latest late-night talk show to look to bring back a crowd. Earlier, ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, which also shoots in Los Angeles, brought back audiences this year, as did New York-shot shows ‘The Late Show’ with Stephen Colbert and ‘The Tonight Show’ starring Jimmy Fallon.

Popular TV show host James Corden is currently in talks to get his CBS’ ‘The Late Late Show’ extended.

The show has James Corden through August 2022 and the CBS network looks keen on keeping him. It’s being reported that the network bosses are happy with James Corden.

Confirming those reports is the statement that CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl gave last week to Deadline. He said, “We love James and he is and has been doing a terrific job.
